Harry Winston Ocean Sport Collection Watches
Harry Winston will soon launch this new collection of watches called the Ocean Sport. While I don't think the name sounds particularly high-end (though the Ocean is a long standing Harry Winston watch), they are interesting are relatively simple and satisfying sport versions of the iconic Harry Winston Ocean watch fare. The Ocean Sport will have a few versions, and pieces for both men and women. Style wise they feel very much influenced by some Roger Dubuis pieces from the last few years. Does anyone else see that? What connects each of the Ocean Sport watches is an aesthetic theme as well as a Zalium case. Zalium is a special zirconium alloy unique to Harry Winston watches. Connected to the watches are either black or white HW branded rubber straps. The men's models come with light or dark cases and in chronograph or three-hand models. These are called the Harry Winston Ocean Sport Chronograph or Ocean Sport Automatic watches. They are 44mm wide in satin finished Zalium cases. According
IWC Portuguese Sidrale Scafusia Watch: Super Complex, Over $750,000
What you are seeing here is the most complicated IWC watch ever created. It is called the Portuguese Sidrale Scafusia (ref. 5041) and it will be available only via custom order. IWC recently launched it at a powerful celestial observatory in Chile, and it represents a new high-mark for the brand. While the watch itself is very interesting, the lesson it can teach us about how high-end watch brands operate is even more interesting.According to IWC a team of watch makers spent about 10 years researching and developing the Portuguese Sidrale Scafusia mechanism. While at least one other IWC watch offers more complications, the Portuguese Sidrale Scafusia is a much more complicated watch. Strictly for the die-hard collector, this timepiece according to IWC CEO Georges Kern is a "dreamlike" machine. It holds within it the values a serious watch brand wishes to convey as well as those aspirational qualities that a super high-end watch should have. It is meant to be an item of wonder, somet
New Panerai Owner!
Hi everyone, just wanted to share the love as I recently got myself the 560!To be honest, I had always thought the Panerai was too big of a watch for me to pull of, and I didn't really understand the fascination of the watch with it's big numbers. After owning the Rolex Explorer II, IWC, and Tudor BB, i figured it's time to try something different!Well needless to say, this watch is really nice! and it doesn't wear as big as I had thought. I even tried a 42 mm one and that ended up too small to my liking! After reading on the forum and doing research, it was a toss up between the 560 and the 510. I ended up with the 560 because of the cleaner look. Also got a pretty good discount with the local AD. Thanks everyone for the information! Already got myself a nice Mario Paci Strap!P.S.- The Panerai box packaging is superb!
Serif font question?
Is there a date range that certain models got serif fonts?
BLRO GMT vs Smurf Sub
I'm considering flipping my 36mm YG DayDate & SubC for one of these but change my mind daily. I prefer the bezel on the GMT, but prefer the Sub as a watch over the GMT - help!
