Glashtte Original Sixties Iconic Watches With Five New Dials
Last week, Glashtte Original announced a bold expansion of their Sixties line up with the new Sixties Iconic. Set apart by a selection of five 1960s-inspired dial colors, the Glashtte Original Sixties Iconic line harnesses a mix of old-school tools and modern techniques to offer an interesting perspective on the continued trendiness of vintage design aesthetics. Taking a successful and classically proportioned design like that of the Sixties and integrating bright colors and uncommon textures takes the line in an different direction, promoting a more casual and laid back sensibility.Aside from the dials, the Glashtte Original Sixties Iconic is a direct extension of the steel Sixties models, retaining the 39mm case sizing and three-hand functionality provided by the calibre 39-52 in-house automatic movement. Thickness, including sapphire crystals front and back, is 9.4mm and the Glashtte Original Sixties Iconic comes on a Louisiana Alligator leather strap in a variety of colors depe
The Future Of Porsche Design Watches And The Timepiece No. 1
Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 WatchThe picture above is an early drawing of what will be the Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1, the first watch actually officially made by Porsche Design as we understand it. Porsche Design has been involved in watchmaking since 1972, and has worked with a range of different watch companies to produce its watch designs. These have included brands such as Orfina, IWC, and Eterna over the years, but a new era of in-house production will come to Porsche Design soon.Earlier in 2014, Porsche Design ended its longstanding relationship with Swiss Eterna watches to produce timepieces for the Stuttgart-based German company. The precise reason for the termination of the relationship remains unclear?but I theorized that it may have had something to do with Eterna's purchase by the Chinese company China Haidian. After the purchase, Eterna's CEO Patrick Kury also stepped down and it was unclear what the future of both companies would be like.Several months ago I spoke
AP Website Problem?
Yesterday I tried to login into my audemarspiguet only to find my account no longer existed (doing a reset resulted in 'there are no accounts associated with this email'). I had successfully registered my 15710ST on 8 April and received a confirmation email with the watch details and a statement, 'In a few weeks, you will receive a sticker to be placed in your warranty booklet. I had been able to login to my account up until yesterday, and so I called their service number in NY (646-375-0807) and was told they would have to get somebody to call me - apparently they can't look up anything but did say there might be a website problem. Nobody has called me back and I still can't login. Is anybody else unable to login? Also if somebody has a suggestion for a better phone number with somebody that can lookup registrations and warranty info, please advise or PM me. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

To AD...or not to AD? Thoughts, opinions, recommendations please....
Dear all,Longtime lurker/sometimes poster over on the Rolex side. I have enjoyed reading and learning about PP from the various postings here. I have a birthday coming up and am in the market for the 5164a dual time Aquanaut. Happy #$% Birthday to me!I first saw this beautiful and functional timepiece at the PP boutique in NYC. So my question to you all is:Should I purchase this watch in person from a bricks and mortar AD? My wife and I like the idea of flying to NY for the day to pick it up, the added comfort of the FTF transaction, and knowledge that it is 100% legit...On the other hand, this watch can be had for significantly less from other grey market dealers. MSRP for this piece is about $35k USD and I have seen it online from some reputable grey marketers BNIB/papers for $30-31...as low as $28 on Chrono24 (but no idea about the dealer). What are the benefits to the AD route? Is there any other value the AD can add to the transaction? I am aware of the many pitfalls of g
