Sponsored PostIn the last five years, Madison Avenue has become the epicenter for haute horlogerie and the largest fine timepiece marketplace in North America. This unprecedented congregation of watch brands establishing flagship boutiques motivated the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District to create the first Madison Avenue Watch Week. The concept for the Madison Avenue Watch Week was simple; to display the newest Swiss watch innovations with in-store events for the New York audience. Madison Avenue Watch Week will be celebrating its 5th Anniversary from April 20 to 25, 2015.Thanks to the hospitality and creativity of the participating brands, over the years, thousands of watch collectors and enthusiasts have had the amazing experiences of seeing master watchmakers at work or demonstrating the inner mechanics and technology of superlative timepieces - historic and brand new. A Happy New Year to all!We begin the new year with lots of high-end watches from A. Lange & S?hne, F.P. Journe, Kari Voutilainen and Maitres du Temps. We also find out how the Rolex Submariner became the icon that it is today; revisit the case of the Swatch Group versus Tiffany & Co.; learn more about the history of Laco; and finally see how an IWC Ingenieur 5005 is repaired.1. F.P. Journe Sonnerie Souveraine Watch Hands-OnFran?ois-Paul Journe is one of the most talented watchmakers of our generation and the Sonnerie Souveraine is arguably his proudest creation - it is said that he wears it everywhere. The impressive thing about the Sonnerie Souveraine is that it was designed to be simple to operate and to be as mechanically durable and hardy as possible. Where's the Love for the Gondolo Calendarios?
Why do these always seem to get short shrift here and on the market? I'm talking about the 5135s, which I think are beautiful and a great size for us larger fellas.
Pam372 vs 305
So i am thinking about grabbing my first Panerai before the end of the year don't want to get the a really expensive one for my first panerai. Narrowed it down between two choices the 372 and 305 i am gonna be using these almost everyday as a daily watch, comfort will be important and the reason why i don't want a 44mm PAM because i already have a 44mm in the collection.
My first PAM!
Hey guys!I've always been a Rolex owner (16610 and 116710), but recently I'd been looking for a PAM292. I tried one on at an AD not long ago, and suddenly my interest sparked in Panerai. I didn't get into the Luminor though, and so Radiomir it was! However, after not managing to find the right one at the right price here in Egypt, I took a little time to think. During that time I did some more research and, after seeing a lot of photos of broken/chipped ceramic watches and learning a little more about the tool origins of a Panerai, I decided a steel watch would be better. After all, it is a tool watch and is supposed to be able to take a beating. I decided to look for a PAM183 instead and, not long after, I found one! It's a second-hand O series in great shape, and I was able to directly trade my 2003 Y series steel Submariner for it.Here it is, but more photos later when I get home and pull out the macro lens! What do you think?
