Watches NEWS
Hands-on with the Lm-Tec Combat B23 Carbon
It's not often that we'll take a look at a watch twice. Or rather, two watches in one series. They just don't usually offer enough difference to bother. Well Lm-Tec has consistently created cool new variations on their signature Combat line, a line of watches I personally just find really enjoyable. The first time they came across our desk, we took a look at two models, one an automatic in steel, the other a manual wound in titanium. I liked them both, a lot. Following that, they brought one out in bronze with a green dial. This was enough of a departure, in my eyes, from the previous two to warrant a new review or maybe I just missed wearing one, not sure. That one was fun, with a very different feel from the previous models.Well, in the last 6 months or so they've dropped a few more models, and started experimenting with some new materials that really interested me. Move over steel, titanium and bronze, and welcome the Combat B23 Carbon. The second watch we've seen out of "forged
UPDATE: Brand New ROO second visit to service center
So it seems like a smaller grouping of threads around these parts so you likely read one, or two of my previous threads regarding issues with my 3 month old ROO 42mm. If not here's the latest thread....rolexforums/showthread.php?t=470557And here's the update. Good news and bad news.Good news is I finally heard from a workshop manager. He told me he's been testing my watch and it seems to be within their standards and specifications.Obviously this is great. Since the beginning I've only wanted a watch in good working order that I wouldn't have to send in for repair. Here's the bad news, or really I should say more annoying news. As you know, since getting my watch back from the first visit to APSC, I'd noticed a sound coming from the movement. Never heard it before, combined with the fact that the grinding/rough sound of winding and screwing the crown down was still there I considered sending it back in.He told me in his email that the grinding sound I heard was normal. THIS WAS T
Why am I not excited about the new Planet Ocean GMT?
It boils down to this:As we would say in the southern US, Rolex done good with this GMT. The case is a well proportioned 42mm in diameter and a comfortable 12.5mm thick which is noticeably thinner than either my Speedy Pro or Planet Ocean. The oyster bracelet gracefully extends from the 21mm lugs to the 18mm wide Easylink clasp with solid screws holding the removable links in place. The clasp has three micro-adjustments in addition to the flip feature that adds another 5mm if your wrist happens to swell in the heat of the day. The benefits of the 904L stainless steel Rolex compared to the 316L Omega SS have been greatly debated but although on paper both grades have the same level of harness, the Rolex clasp and bracelet seem less susceptible to desk diver dings and scratches than my PO LM LE.This model 216570 incorporates the latest cal. 3167 movement with new Paraflex system for absorbing and nullifying the effects of shock on the balance wheel. And the blue Chromalight lume co
My New Seamaster
Just got my first Omega and I couldn't be happier. Very classy and well made, pictures can't do it justice
How different is the DJ SS Blue dial vs the Sky-D SS Blue Dial in real?
Can anyone comment, on how different are the blue dials that are available on the SS version of DJ and Sky-D? If someone has seen both the watches in person? Looking at the pictures on the Rolex's website, there seems to be a slight difference. The blue dial of Sky-D has a bit of shimmer. But they don't mention if there is any difference. In person they might be more similar than when looking at the pictures online!?I was lucky to get an SS Sky-D with black dial. However, haven't tried any Rolex with blue dial yet. So wanted to get opinions. Maybe get a DJ in future with blue dial.
