New for 2013: Richard Mille RM 036 Tourbillon G-Sensor Jean Todt
Auto racing enthusiast Richard Mille has long been inspired by cars and motorsports in the designs for his eponymous watch brand, but the new RM 036 Tourbillon G-Sensor Jean Todt, which makes its official debut at next month’s SIHH watch fair in Geneva, is the first to include a complication dedicated to road safety.Following in the footsteps or the tire treads, if you will of previous racing-inspired pieces like the Felipe Massa and Le Mans limited editions, the new watch features a tourbillon movement, made entirely of grade-5 titanium and ARCAP on a carbon nanofiber baseplate, inside an ergonomically crafted tonneau case made of titanium. The movement, Caliber RM 036, is manually wound and has a power reserve of 70 hours. Like other Richard Mille movements, it has a a free-sprung balance with variable inertia; a fast-rotating barrel; and a “function selector” reminiscent of a car’s gearbox to select the hand-setting mode with the push of a button in the c
Formex 4 Speed DS 2000 GMT Watch Perfect For Diving Or Racing
Formex is one of those brands I love to notice, but doesn't seem to get the public attention it deserves. Which is a shame given how nice some of their watches are. The mantra of Formex seems to be a melding of watch and race car technology. As such, the signature tech feature that is unique to Formex and found in each of their watches is a patented shock absorption system (they call it a suspension system). It is really simple actually, and nifty. The watch case itself is attached via a vertically gliding fastener to a plate. The plate contains the lugs to which the bracelet is attached. In the event of shock, the watch case is able to independently move a little bit up and down. It's just a cool little system to have. The design of the watch is a combination of tool shed tech and traditional diver watch. From a distance the appearance of the DS 2000 GMT is of a strong looking diving watch. Upon closer inspection you realize all the little features that make the Formex unique. The full
PO or AT
I'm hopefully going to buy the 8500 PO 42 or the blue Aqua Terra. I tried on the new 41.5 AT in blue at the weekend along with the 38.5 one from Skyfall and the 42 PO.I like them both a lot and can get a good discount on both models and can see the pros and cons of each but haven't decided which one to go for yet. Even though I'm looking at this as a long term purchase with my flipping history you never know so which one do you think will keep it value better?
Value question- my 20th anniversary Speedmaster
I have a 20th anniveryary Speedy, with the engraved case side, boxes, papers, velcro strap, badge, etc, that I bought new in 1989.Condition is excellent.I need to gather funds for another watch. What is a reasonable value for this watch, complete set?
Just my wrist shot today
