Stylin' Xemex XE 5000 Automatic Watch With Perlage Polished Metal Face
This is one of the rarest Xemex XE 5000 watches out there, and perhaps the most interesting. This is Xemex trying to be even more avant garde and succeeding. The XE 5000 line of Xemex watches was intended to be a higher budget Offroad, and offered complex chronograph and standard three hand models in various flavors.This particular XE 5000 model features a complex perlage polishing on the steel face. This type of polishing has been common on high-end machinery for well over 100 years, and in some realms is a lost art. While this type of polishing is no longer technically needed, it still looks pretty cool. You'll see this on the dashboards of some high-end sports cars like the Spyker as well. 15400 Stopped
My 15400 stopped ticking a few days ago. I tried to wind it a little bit to see if it would start ticking, but it is still not ticking. The piece was purchased from a boutique about a month ago. I will be calling APSC tomorrow... Hopefully its nothing too serious. Anyone have a problem like this? Thanks

Is this a reasonable price for a speedy 9300 strap?
I found a seller of an oem 21mm croc straps for a speedmaster with caliber 9300. He is selling it for $400. It is supposedly new.Is that price below Msrp at an AD? I don't have any AD near by but I'll be taking a trip in 4 months where there will be an AD I can visit.I already have the oem deployment. If you are wondering :)Thanks for any advice!

Demand for a tonneau shaped manual wind chrono?
I was just curious if you all thought a tonneau shaped manual wind chrono would be a good seller if it was one of Patek's regular production models. I realize this turtle shaped case is not too popular as I see 5940s readily available at ADs and the TV set perpetual calendar chrono when it was released way back when was not too popular as well. I very badly want a manual wind chrono but the 5070 is just too big for my girly wrists LOL and the 5170 although amazing has not released a dial color, numeral style, and tachymeter combo that I prefer. We have talked at length about the beautiful 3670A (One of mine and Gus's Favs) but I wish that they would make a similar piece in WG or platinum. Let me all know your thoughts? The split second tonneau version is out of this world but unfortunately out of my price range (Pic of 3670A from hodinkee and split second chrono from trf member dom007)

Visited European Watch Co in Boston v.Pics
Stopped by the very friendly and knowledgeable European Watch Co on Newbury St in Boston. I stopped in as they had a 5164 and 5167 in stock (pre-owned, they are not an AD) and I wanted to compare them side by side. I also wanted to compare the 5726 dial to the Aquanaut dial.The hold up with the Aquanaut is the bezel looks a little dinged up (you can see the marks in the close up pic, they are right by the 1oclock mark on outer bezel and also in between the 12-1 mark middle bezel. I came to realize three things:1. I am glad my 5167 purchase fell through as the 5164 is perfection.2. I am glad I went with 5712 over 5726 as the 5726 dial in person is identical color to the 5164 so the blue dial 5712 is a perfect mate for the 5164.3. The Nautilus looks much better on a leather strap than I had originally thought.I also tried on a watch that is on my grail list, A Lange Platinum Datograph Man that Platinum is heavy and the movement is mesmerizing.
