Omega De Ville X2 Big Date Watch Available On James List
This sure isn't an Omega watch you see every day. In fact, I am not even sure how widely watches like this square cased De Ville X2 are sold in America. This piece is only a few years old and comes in a few versions - I think it is still sold in retail stores. This model is the Omega De Ville X2 Big Date. Seen here in steel, it also comes in in gold as well. I am a bit fascinated by the design as it is highly unusual compared to what people in the US think of when they consider Omega watches.Familiar with the "California dial" that mixes Roman numerals on one side of the dial and Arabic ones on another? Well this watch plays with that concept in another watch. The "X2" for sample is Omega's way of writing "12." Just like "V1" is "6" (as opposed to VI). The watch design is actually quite simple aside from these whimsical elements and some "body cladding." Take for instance the triangular extremities on the lugs and the applied metal hour markers. Without these and a few Omega logos, thi
Hands-On: With The Tissot Powermatic 80 Chronometer (Live Pics & Pricing)
Along with the vintage-inspired worldtimer, Tissot released an update of their popular Powermatic line at this year's Basel World. The new Powermatic 80 Chronometer is an extremely straightforward watch with an 80 hour power reserve and chronometer certified movement, giving you a lot of timekeeping power for your money. The handsome package is an added bonus and here's a hands-on look at this high-value watch from Tissot. 2 OF 10 80 Hour Power Reserve and COSC Chronometer Certification COSC-certification is nothing new for Tissot. A few months ago we gave you an in-depth review of their Le Locle Chronometre, winner of the 2012 Concours International de Chronometrie timing competition (spoiler alert, we liked it). The movement inside this Powermatic 80 Chronometer is a COSC-certified ETA C07.111, which is essentially an ETA 2824 with a beefed up 80-hour power reserve, lower friction materials, and a balance beating at 3Hz instead of 4Hz. The latter two modifi
Why get an Omega if you can Afford a Rolex..
My friend asked me this question.I have been looking to get an Omega Aqua Terra Blue dial, but another watch keeps coming in the way. I am very biased towards the color Blue. I love any blue dial watch, but unfortunately not a fan of two tone, so the sub doesn't do it. The WG sub is just too expensive.Fast forward after Basel and now the new 39mm OP blue dial has my vote. I don't know if the green markings are amazing, but I know I love a blue dial.Anyway so I did not know what to tell my friend when he asked me why I would get an Omega if I could afford a Rolex.. LolNot talking about Sea masters, etc. just the classic Aqua Terra VS the DJ or OP.

Looking to get an 18K WG daytona 116509 with original box and papers. What are the going prices on the preowned ones on the forum here. Thanks much

They also had a BLNR in the back that had been put aside for an employee apparently, they were nice enough to let me try it on but I didn't take pictures because I didn't want to push my luck! Spoke to the manager and they played up the there will be very limited stock of the SS sports watches this coming year angle but I wasn't convinced, I'll leave that up for debate
