Watches NEWS
Rory McIlroys AP
Today after his round he had the ROO Chrono in RG on. It was on the rubber strap. Beautiful watch. I wish I had a $50-60k watch when I was 22. Guess when you are playing golf better than anyone in the wold you get those for free. I've seen him in 3 different APs this week. All RO or ROO Chronos.
Vintage Speedy leather strap
I thought I'd post this picture as I'd never seen the strap option for a 321 Speedy. It's a perforated, racing strap. Very different from the alligator strap currently on offer from Omega. I wonder where I can get a replica of these?ImageUploadedByTapatalk1339511663.016785.jpg
Happy New Year from my new 5960/1A
Hi everyone. My first post here and wanting to wish you all a very Happy New Year and show you my new 5960/1A. Best thing I ever purchased. So happy here.
Thinking of downsizing to a 42mm Panerai...
I've owned several PAMs over the years, a 111, 000, 312, 287, 024 and currently a 233. Though I deeply appreciate the brand, I've somehow come to the conclusion that the 44-45mm size is just too large on my wrists (6.5 inches). I've been looking at the 42mm Panerai models and have been attracted to some of the Radiomir models (337, 514) but I am looking at something with a date. Also saw and admire the 184 which is somehow hard to come by. The Luminor 392 seems a bit too thick for me. I wanted to ask members experiences with handling a 42mm Panerai (Luminor or Radiomir) and if anyone can recommend something that is slim and with the date function. I guess I am looking for something with the overall Panerai aesthetic but somehow not too bulky on my wrist. Sausage or sandwich dial is fine. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Lucky day at the airport (first Rolex)
So, I was walking through Schiphol on Friday, with an hour to kill before my flight home, when I happened upon a 116710LN at the airside Gassan store. It was sitting the the display window (the only SS model they had) and the salesperson said she had just put it out there minutes before.Moments later, it was on my wrist, and I boarded my flight home with a big smile. This is my first Rolex, and as a frequent business traveller, I think the GMT complication will be very useful. Here's a quick picture taken from the lounge. By the way, for those who might be interested in buying a watch from the airport, I paid exactly MSRP minus VAT (which in NL, is 21%), so in this case 7,750 EUR - VAT = 6,404 EUR.
