Off to the spa...
Well ye olde hair spring broke on my 15300...only 3 years since the last movement service. Long enough to be out of warranty. Only choice is a full service...I also opted for a case refinishing. It will be the second as I bought the Watch pre-owned.Afraid I didn't take any before pics. But truth be told, there were only some small dents on the bezel edge and scuffs on the case chamfers and one lug hole. Bracelet had a few scuffs on the brush marks as well. The watch maker gave no warnings of refinishing dangers...So, I figured YOLO...It will be nice to have a new watch in 11 weeks or so!

Hi allJust a story I wanted to share, I had a short break in York (UK) and in the hotel I was staying at they had the following book in my room...I was obviously very pleased about that! Turned out the same book is in every room (so it was not special treatment lol). So inside the book it had the name of the local AD and obviously I had to visit wearing my Breitling Colt!They are a lovely bunch and they could see my knowledge and enthusiasm for the brand (I flashed my Patek wallet lol). I told them about the book in the hotel and they obviously knew all about that. I asked if they had a spare copy of the book and they said yes and popped it in a nice bag for me. We carried on talking, I tried on the 5119r and showed pictures of my collection. Then a lady put a box on the table and said we want you to have this. A lovely Patek Philippe tie!! Patek Enablers, Some Help/Info Needed !!
To my TRF fam, and once Ap enablers not so long ago... Time to bring it to Patek First and foremost, you guy's are such BAD influences Ive tried recently the 5980, and LOVE IT! Just worried I won't wear it too much because of it's sheer prettiness and somehow I won't want to wear it casually and sporty? I know it's a sports watch, but it felt kind of delicate, not sure why!Also, I always loved the 5712, they are getting the last one in the company for me, with the blue/slate dial on bracelet to look at. Price is much more appealing to me, love the power reserve and moon phase, dial overall.. I think 51k is A LOT for a steel chrono, thoughts? Way overpriced? Last question, I guess i'll see for myself, the 5980 fit beautifully but I wouldn't want to go smaller... 5712 people say wears smaller? How much so? Which would you pick and why... Reliability?
