Another one back from the spa....
In Clearwater Fla..... and boy did this one need it (you don't want to see the bill ).But I am delighted with the result. Not bad for a 40 year old watch (same age as me ). So I present to you my 'factory fresh' AP Jumbo A series
Winding Omega 300m grinding sound?
Hey All,Just received a new 300m and have a concern. When I unwind the crown and it pops out. I start to manually wind it an it feels like it's kind of grinding. Is the crown not out far enough and rubbing on the screw threads or is that how it feels with the rotor winding up.***My procedure***1st. Unwind all the way and let the crown move out on its own.2nd. Wind forward or clockwise. When I do this I can feel a grinding...or a ...hard to describe...buzzing-BUT I DO NOT HEAR IT...just feel it.If I pull out to the first click, isn't that the date adjustment? I guess I need to read the instructions. The reason I ask is that on my Rolex watches I do the same procedure as described, with no grinding feeling.Am I winding it correctly? Thanks for helping me with my remedial question(s).....
New Incoming: Snoopy Time
No unfortunately not the new one, but since we are on the dawn on seeing the latest incarnation of the Snoopy Speedmaster released into the wild I thought it a good time to pick up one of the old versions. Introduced at Basel in 2003, the reference 3578.51 was originally an incredibly poor seller, sitting in shop windows gathering dust and often changing hands for a fraction of the RRP. It's hard to imagine it now, given how sought after these have become over the years amongst collectors and fans. It is for all intents and purposes a standard Speedie 3570.50 but with a Snoopy patch on the dial, updated caseback and different packaging. Inside it still runs an 1861 cal manual wind chronograph movement and sports a hesalite crystal - thankfully.1 of only 3 of the many limited edition Speedmaster's that I like (Alaska and Souyez being the other 2), i've had my eye out for one of these for ages. When this one popped up on Chrono24 at a frankly daft price I jumped on it quickly. In fact I
Daydreaming about PCCs again...
As between 5970G and 5970J, which do you prefer and why?A few personal thoughts:1. 5970J appears to have been the least produced having been in production for only 1 year and with approx. 450 produced vs. approx. 850 of the 5970G.2. Yellow gold feels more vintage and timeless. White gold is more versatile and may stand the test of time better. 3. Yellow gold might have more character as opposed to white gold. Not sure about this colour combo
Changed a strap for the first time last night and I'm unsure about the colours. It almost matches my shirt. Thoughts?
