Watch What-If: Omega Speedmaster
"Watch What-If" is a special column on aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer that asks the playful question "what if an iconic watch you know and love was offered in a different style?" The idea embraces a good timepiece's core design and has fun by offering new colors and material concepts to stimulate your senses. These ideas may be provocative, artistic, or just plain silly. This is about fun, Photoshop, and the celebration of wrist watch design and experimentation. The original design we work off will always be at the bottom of the article. The designs are brought to life by Beau Hudspeth who does the artwork and conception after he and I choose the models and styles to focus on. These special design experiments are extremely time consuming and labor intensive but we hope you enjoy the results. Ideas and comments are more than welcome. Enough response may even lead to a round two of design of the same watch - so please comment below. You are also encouraged to suggest watches that make it into
AP Royal Oak as daily wearer?
Hi All,Looking into an AP royal oak, either the newer 1400 41mm or the previous 15300 39mm.I love my sub and do use it as my daily wearer. Can anyone share if the AP royal oak will withstand the rigors of day to day when at work in a suit or on the weekend? Also any thoughts on the size, I'm concerned the 41mm will be a tad too big to wear under the cuff?Any advice appreciated.Cheers.
Uh-oh....
OK- so here's the deal: I recently 'acquired' a minty-mint 2008 Speedmaster Pro 3570.50 from a buddy here on TRF (Thanks again, Bill!) as a kind of weekend/workhorse watch- aka something to wear that's maybe a little more 'casual' than my ss/plat Yacht-Master.So- I get the watch, head down to the Omega store on 5th Avenue in NYC and have a black rubber strap with white contrast stitching on a deployant buckle attached. ($405!!!)The customer service is fantastic there... no 'tude, and knowledgable, nice people! Glad to be part of the Omega forum now, too-So...to the uh-oh part. The Speedy is probably the most comfortable watch I own, and has been getting a lot more wrist time than the YM. I'd go so far as to say I actually enjoy wearing it MORE- for both looks and comfort.Just wanted to share this Saturday morning, and will post pics soon.... have a happy Holiday everyone!
PAM00421no love?
i have offered my PAM00421 for sale in a very respected high end used watch shop in vienna, at a very reasonable price - simply because i want to concentrate on patek and rolex (no sales pitch here though!!!!!). strangely enough it did not sell yet after three months and the owner of the shop tells me that almost nobody even takes a look at it. i am wondering what is wrong with the model (the watch itself is in perfect state)? is it indicative for the panerai second hand market or just that the gold models are not liked by paneristi? most likely i will take it back again and keep wearing it once in a while, i like the watch....ps: i should add that i bought a patek 5712R which kind of ticks similar boxes to the PAM00241, namely rose gold case on croc strap, brown dial......
