How I managed to purchase a 5711 from an AD in 2 weeks
Hi,I thought I’d share my experience of how I managed to purchase a 5711 last August from my AD, waiting only 2 weeks...I’ve been a customer of my local AD for nearly 15 years, from my mid 20’s. Back then I bought my first watch; a Panerai 104. I then went on to purchase a Rolex Milgauss. And later on I purchased a Jaeger Geophysic. So, whilst I bought a few mid level watches, I wasn’t a big spender by their standards. Nonetheless I took the decision on each occasion to only go there.Over the years I built up a good relationship with the same gentlemen who served me every time I went in. The truth was I wasn’t doing this over the years to be “smart”. I was simply doing it as I liked having just one AD who knew me and gave excellent service.Last August I decided to go for my next watch. I walked in to the AD and asked about the Royal Oak 15202. As I half expected he told me this is a boutique edition only, so he couldn’t acquire it f
How do you clean your Patek on a leather strap
So how do you clean your pateks on a leather strap? For my bracelet ones I use veraet cleaning spray on the bracelet and the head and use warm water..... but what do you do with your pateks on leather straps, as you can't use water to clean the head without getting water on the leather strap? (And water and leather aren't too friendly with each other)Also do you clean your leather straps? What do you use?And how often to clean your watch?

Sign of the times or another reason???
Yesterday, two other friends and myself took ourselves of to London for a few hours, to visit as many AD and vintages shops in Bond Street including Old & New Bond Street. Now for those who know that area, will appreciate that there are several Patek Philippe AD's including their Boutique. Now for the first time ever, I saw pieces in the window, that would a couple of years ago, already had buyers or were kept in the safeThese included pieces across the board such as PC's AC's WT, Chronographs.Models such as: 5140 all metals, 5159, the new PC from last year, 5960P both coloured dials, 5170J, 5130, 5726, 5205, 5980, 5712 etc etc.And this wouldn't be in just one storte but most of themNow is this beacuse of our current favourite phrase Economic Climate, or that AD's are stocking up or that they are just tooooooooo expensive or maybe another reasonOn a slightly different note, I visited the new watch department in Harrods and found it to be a HUGE improvement over their previous one.
