Snoopy Speedmaster Professional
Sad to say that my Snoopy/Speedy has to find a new home. Wanted to post some pics in case I ever need to look back at them as I kick myself in the rear for getting rid of such a beautiful watch! RS
Cost of re-filling the 5127G caseback? (had it engraved)
I have a 5127G which was engraved with initials upon purchase.Unfortunately, I need to sell the watch and was wondering if anyone has had experience refilling engravings.I've talked with Patek AD and service center and I was told a) by AD that it might cost $1000-2000, and b) by service center that they typically refill it using laser or something to that effect and the cost is determined on a case-by-case basis.Have any of you used such a service from Patek?
2569/1 Calatrava - enamel dial issue - minute markers
Hi guys,I'm new here, so let me firs introduce myself. My name is Jan form Croatia, I'm a big vintage and contemporary watch collector. Got some nice watches that will be posted in other topics. As a crown of my collection last week came PP 2569/1 in red gold. It was a rare opportunity to get it, mint case, clear movement and dial that made me thinking about it. Then I found many watches with similar dial, one on this forum, and started my research. Many claim it's redial, most without any knowledge about vintage Patek and dial production in 50's. What I found; those dials are made by enamel, so it quite a complicated work with baked dust. One jeweler told me that the only way to make those minute markers was drilling holes in finished dial, by hand explaining the inperfection, and filling them later. His opinion is that corrosion through 60 years made those turquoise color and black rings around. All dials I found look too similar, have too perfect fonts, and are on other parts of the
Weird question...Rolex hulk w/ darker skin color?
I've been wanting to see a Rolex 116610LV in person, but unfortunately have been unable to find one to handle. I'm strongly considering buying one but the thing that worries me is that I'm a darker skin tone (Indian) and I'm not sure if the green will look good on me. I don't want to spend the money and end up hating it. I'm not really sure what I'm looking for, but if anyone with a darker complexion offer their input or provide me with a few pics, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
