Introducing: The F.P. Journe Limited Edition Steel Set, Celebrating The End Of 38 MM With Something Very Special (Details, Live Pics, Pricing)
For a brand that has only been around for a little over 16 years, F.P. Journe has developed a sizable following among serious watch collectors. As such, every subtle variation, nuance, and change is noted with great interest. Today’s announcement celebrates one such change – and in a very dramatic way. When the brand started selling watches back in 1999, F.P. Journe watches were only available in 38 mm cases. A few years later the 40 mm size was introduced and the majority of watches to follow were available in both case sizes. The 38 mm was the traditional choice of purists, but things change. From now on, watches in the Journe collection will only be available in 40 or 42 mm cases (with the exception of the Chronometre Bleu, which is still 39 mm). 1 OF 12 To commemorate the end of 38 mm watches, F.P. My dad passed on last month at 78 due to a very brief fight with cancer.Throughout his hospitalization and even after his death, there seemed to be a particular number at play here.44.His hospital ward was 44. I am 44 this year. Im 44 and my child is 10. He was 44 when i was 10. Im his 4th child. He died on 14/3. ..1+3=4...and 4.Time of death 6.34....6+3+4=13...1+3=4.2015=2+1+5=8=4+4For the past month or so..i have been coming across this number on countless occasions..more than the usual for any number in fact....carplate numbers...times on handphone...grocery amounts...handphone battery life percentage etc etc.My dad owned a half gold rolex 1601(1+6+1=8=4+4)...now under my brother's care. I wanted to finally own a first hand gold watch to commenmorate my dad...so i decided on a patek 5119j.Thats right..5+1+1+9=16=44.Dad must be smiling. Was the Submariner case changed for 2018 or not?
I thought I read something about slimmer lugs and a redesigned case profile, but can't find it. I'm assuming there has been no change or it would've had a lot of attention. Is this correct?
My first...
After years of wanting/waiting it arrived yesterday. I was torn between date/no date and after reading numerous posts I decided I wanted the classic and clean no date. I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks for all the advice and thoughts helping my decision. Merry Christmas....Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
