Popular Watchmakers Sign New Book At Basel
If you are one of the lucky people who is going to be at Basel, you can join me and many others, at the book signing of the new book on watch makers, "12 Faces Of Time." The special event will see some of today's best watch makers together. The book features and profiles them, discussing them and their work. While each of the watch makers is different, they are each easily in the genius category. This is probably one of your only chances to see them all together. Watch makers aren't know to be the most social people, but ask them the right questions, and they open up like a crack in the Hoover Dam. Watch makers are also known to sometimes be notoriously competitive, so I wonder if a "best watch maker" fight will ensue. "5 Microns?!! PsssshhhTry 4 Microns!" That would certainly be cause for attendance. Patek aligator strap
I got a new strap from my local Patek hq today.Very stiff still and priced to sell!Problem i discovered later was the print 'geneve' underside is very faint, almost missing, on a brand new strap no doubt.I sent them a pic via email indicating this immediately upon discovering this flaw. Yes i should have checked before i paid but i let that slipped.The hq sales personnel replied and said 'i know the print is faint but the strap is brand new'The strap is not cheap. Who else can i escalate this to?

Subliminal message...not sure what to do?!?
I have been giving this one some though lately. The LV aka Hulk, love this watch, but, I have also been thinking about the SD43. I don't have a black faced Rolex right now as I sold my DSSD last year. So, the fact I love the submariner, I still keep thinking about the LV. The only hold up for me right now is that have two subs currently, the 116619 (smurf) and the 116618LN black face. Neither of which I want to sell.
