One Year Of Watch Blogging: The First Anniversary Of aBlogtoRead.com
I'm not going to get all mushy or dramatic. It has been a year since I started aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer and it has really come a long way. When the site began, I had little idea that it would be solely a blog about watches. Could I really handle writing about watches all the time? Well the answer to that question is pretty self evident. At first, I really thought that watches would merely be a regular, albeit shared category, along with other things that I know about. While I do occasionally remark on legal or business items, and Internet marketing, my passion has obviously laid with those little time telling machines that I wish were more ubiquitous.Over the past year the look of the blog has developed, and so have my contacts in, and knowledge about the watch world. I have a lot of plans in the works to further improve the site, and your ideas are more than welcome. Among those things that I have learned, not all are pleasant. No more 15450? 37mm? (new AP fan)
Hello all,Basically a new AP fan, and looking around to see which one I will drop the bomb on when the time comes. Now I have been to the AD in my city, and the smallest sized AP they had was the 41MM 15400.Though a beautiful watch, it wears massive on my 6 wrists. I have very slim wrists, and not massive forearms either, and can't stand the look of very big watches.Do AP no longer make smaller versions like the 15450?Looking for some input.Bare in mind that I can't stand the look of the big 15400 on my wrists; Though i know many do wear them and love them, it's just a personal preference for me I guess. Thanks guys!
15300 First impressions
I'm about a week into owning my AP RO. Here are some of my general thoughts1) Great bracelet so comfortable to wear and light, the watch sits very flat 2) Love the sound of the 22K rotor zipping around ever so often and the looks of the rotor are just killer and a great conversation starter3) The dial face I catch myself zoning out and staring at the craftmanship4) My only negative is that the watch is a scratch magnet :( I picked up some scratches on the bezel on day 2 of ownership and I'm still not sure how it happened. But I'll wear them with pride until I send the watch for servicing~Overall proud owner and member of the AP club.
OMEGA - The Legend (ADVICE, please!)
Any thoughts about this watch from the Omega fans here on TRF? i.e.: popularity of this model & dial variation, availability and/or price expectations, good choice for a first Speedmaster? Input is greatly appreciated! Blaine
Submariner Parts Compatibility
Greetings TRF! I am in the market for my first Rolex watch I have always wanted a TT Submariner. I also am far more attracted to Submariners with no date. Sadly, I don't beileve Rolex makes a TT Submariner no date.My new thought is to buy a Submariner 14060 and swap out the bezel, dial, insert, crown and handset for those same 18k yellow gold parts from a Submariner 16803, 16808, 16613, or any other TT (yellow gold) Rolex Submariner. I have a couple questions regarding this and I hope you nice folks on TRF can point me in the right direction.Question 1: Does Rolex make a TT Submariner no date?Question 2: Are those parts on a Sub 16803, 16808, 16613, or any other TT Sub going to compatible with the parts on a Sub 14060?Thanks in advance for all your help TRF!- AlLos Angeles, California
