Hublot King Power Ayrton Senna Limited Edition Watches
In 1994 a terrible accident during an F1 race in Italy caused Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna to die. I believe that he was the last person to die during a Formula 1 race, and has been a testament to the needs of caution and safety in the work of super-fast racing circuits. Since his death, lots of new safety regulations and technology have been implemented to make the world of competitive racing safer.Recently an event was held in his honor, to raise money for charity via the Instituto Ayrton Senna. Hublot, a long time partner with many drivers as well as the official timepiece maker of Formula One was there to offer two new limited edition timepieces. The event would have been Senna's 50th birthday, and at the event was a debut of a new documentary film about his life called "Senna." The film is being carried by Paramount Pictures, having been developed by Working Title and Universal together. Might be something we find in theaters soon. The two limited edition Ayrton Senna watches from

Panerai S.L.C. Question
Awhile ago I posted a thread asking for suggestions for my first Panerai. I went their boutique in Manhattan and tried on several models in varying sizes. I have looked at everything from their ETA models to their in house models, from Luminor to Radiomir. I know everyone says the 371 or 372 is the way to go to get the best example of a Panerai but I really have my heart set on a Radiomir. If you look at my Rolex collection (with the exception of my Submariner) I tend to like the less sought after models in collections. This is what first brought me to the Radiomir line. In the line everyone has been suggesting the 183 but I wanted something in house and a little different. The new in house 42mm Radiomir is too small for me, I already have 39mm and 42mm watches. I definitely am considering the 190 with the JLC movement, however also in my crosshairs is the 425 S.L.C. model. I really like the minimalist design. I also appreciate it's size and in house movement. My question is
Purchased my first Rolex
I've been a watch aficionado for years and started collecting them seriously about 10 years ago. I had a limited budget, so the richest thing I had in my collection was a 1966 Speedmaster Pro 105.012, which I've loved for years as my favorite watch. When I bought my Speedy it was still within my budget, but a bit of a stretch, at a whopping $2500. Now that it has appreciated in value 3-4x what I paid, I decided to pass it along to the next person who will value it. And I figured it would be a momentous occasion to use the proceeds for my first Rolex! So, I purchased a Datejust 36mm silver, stick dial from Alan Furman Jewelers and it just showed up today. While I'll miss the Speedy, and know it will be worth far more in the future than my new Rolex, I'm happy to have owned it and am satisfied it will bring some other collector some joy.And I'm so excited to own my first new Rolex!
It's arrived! Daytona 116509 black dial!
My grail watch has landed!!! Sorry to be so excited about it but it's my most expensive watch yet and for it is so special!I wanted a chronograph to go into my collection and I got a Tudor Fast rider Blackshield but the moment I got it I regretted it. That started a thought process in my mind, I ended up giving up my 116622 blue along with the fastrider (plus cash) and ended up with imo one of the top if not the top chronograph watch!Sorry about the crap quality photo!
