First Look: Ten Top Vintage Lots From The Phillips Hong Kong Watch Auction One
November saw some pretty exciting auctions and the good news is, the season is far from over. Come December, Phillips' first auction in Hong Kong will offer plenty of incredible vintage grails. Think for instance of the rarest perpetual calendar from Patek Philippe, or a Rolex Daytona Solo, or an incredibly elegant Crash from Cartier London. We should also not forget a dreamy Datejust in pink gold, as well as a seriously enticing chronograph from Vacheron Constantin. Let's focus now on our 10 favorite vintage watches coming up next week. Patek Philippe Reference 3450 Perpetual Calendar In White Gold C One Of Two Known! 1 OF 122 OF 12 Let me introduce you to the star of the show, the incredibly rare Patek reference 3450 in white gold. Total production for this 37.5 mm perpetual calendar was a mere 244 units in the early 1980s, but the vast majority of them were cased in yellow gold. Only two examples have been found in a white-gold case, and this one comes i
AP Schumi Laptimer Concept Video
Hi Guys,Just want to share this youtube video I found in watchestv youtube channel. If you watch it towards the end, the CEO of AP, Mr Bennahmias also mentioned the upcoming AP in-house ROC which will be launched very soon. I am hoping for a 2016 SIHH launch, fingers crossed.
Re: Noob size question
Hi guys,I've been a lurker for a while and it's finally nice to join. I just had a question regarding size. For instance I'm very interested in getting the new AP ROO Forged Carbon Black but needed dimensions if you don't mind. Sorry if it's a stupid question.1) What is the exact diameter of just the crystal itself?2) When measuring AP watches when it says 44mm-is this just the case or case+crown and pushers? I have a picture here and if you don't mind could someone please help with these 3 dimensions as shown by the coloured lines? Thank You very much!!!!!Sean
New Planet Ocean...yea!!!!
I was at Jared on Monday paying my monthly payment. This Jared has a PreOwned counter. I had a 42.5 mm PO with a black bezel and black numbers and sold it a year and and 1/2 ago. I have a 16610 Submariner and it looked to close. Well I spied this 45mm Orange PO, $1899.99 PreOwned. I tried it on and it was one link short and the bezel was jacked up, it took vice grips practically to turn it, so I told the sales girl....no thanks. Then she says, I tell you what, I have a new one in the case over here, I'll give you that one for the same price and send this one to warranty to get fixed but I can only gove you a 1 year warranty with this new one. I bit for the new PO for $1899.99 plus tax and I love the 45mm PO and always had. The orange just pops, instantly recognizable IMO but I just wasn't gonna pay retail for a new one and I didnt have the cash to buy on here or on TimeZone. Speaking of TimeZone, it's looks like no one is buying there. All the add's have 0 replies......my 2255.80 has N
114060 Apparent Bezel Insert Defect - Opinions appreciated
Hello everyone, I am new to the forums as I just recently acquired my first Rolex! An 114060 as a gift from my father for completing medical school and matching. He knew I'd had my eye on it for a long time and totally surprised me with it last week. I've been abtolutely loving the watch, but I noticed what appears to be a small defect within the recess of the ceramic bezel insert where the platinum is deposited. It appears to be a small bubble? It is at the 11 o'clock position of the 0 in the 50 minute marker of the bezel insert. It can be difficult to see, but I tried to capture it in some photos below. It is definitely visible in-person. The good news is that I live <20 minutes from RSC Dallas and am considering taking it in for a replacement insert or at least to hear what they have to say. I realize that this is a small detail, but for 8k, I feel it is warranted. Purchased directly from an AD with my name on the warranty. What are your thoughts? Ideally, I would have been prese
