Introducing myself.....
Hello to everyone on the AP forum here on TRF.Some of you may recognize the handle from other forums some may not. I am glad I found this forum and I am enjoying looking around. I look forward to participating and sharing my passion for the brand we all love, and most of all getting to know everyone! How about my first wrist shot for the board!
5167R - bling or no bling
I'm considering a 5167r and, while I wouldn't wear a full gold watch, I've read some of the comments on this forum and it seems that some 5167r owners to feel differently about 5167r, in that it does not have the bling normally associated with gold watches. Is it still considered a sport watch in gold? I have a 5167a which I'm bonded to, but would consider flipping that for 5164a to complement 5167r. Appreciate any comments.
Patek 5976 offered to me, help please....
An acquaintance of mine purchased this 5976 from our mutual AD. He finds it to big for his taste now that he can see it in person. He has offered to sell it to me. Here is where it gets interesting. He wants $110k for it ($97 MSRP). At first I was kind of put off by the whole thing but I am told these are trading at a much higher premium in the grey market. He kind of made it sound like he was doing me a favor just so the watch was in permanent hands. So here is my quandary: Do I want the watch given I am not a big person. I like the look of the watch (congrats to anyone that owns it) but opinions on it appreciated. Second does the price and market picture I am describing sound right? Lastly the AD has no idea and the seller is a high profile executive so he isn't a serial flipper type. Thanks.
Lume power
Anyone notice some models have a much higher lume than others? For instance the lume on my 233 blows my 422 awayOr maybe just the lume on my 422 is bad?
BLNR owners, would you....?
With the new teaser today, many are speculating a new Coke. For my fellow BLNR owners, if a Coke was released, would you:Unload your BLNR for a Coke?Keep your BLNR and add the Coke?Keep your BLNR and not add the Coke?Personally, I am not a fan of red on watches. The exception is on the 16710 as the blue and red go well together, but that is it. Actually, I'm not much of a fan of red generally speaking. I am content with the BLNR as I favor blue in just about anything. I see all the BLNR will drop to $6000 posts but I disagree. I think more of the masses prefer blue to red in general as well.As exciting as a new coke may be, I will be hanging onto my BLNR. Edit: I'm not hating on the potential new coke as a BLNR owner. I just don't like red much. I know many WIS will be happy if this comes true, and I'll be happy for them getting what they want.
