My Argument For Rolex Watches Article On AskMen.com
I was asked to write an article making an "argument for Rolex watches." This was to be in response to an article which was an "argument against Rolex watches." Now, understand I didn't know what the argument against Rolex watches was going to be, so I simply needed to make a broad and effective argument in favor of the world's most ubiquitous luxury watch. For what ever you can say against Rolex, a ridiculous amount of owners and fans can't be that wrong. I wouldn't go so far as to say Rolex could be the only watch brand you need to look at, but they do have a lot of merit.Like I said, my argument was constructed for all types of people to understand. If you read the comments after the articles, some people got irked that my articles didn't delve deep into some of the more technical or historical aspects of the argument. I appreciate their sentiments, but they need to realize that the article was intended to appeal to people who didn't know or care about what was inside of a watch move
Inside The Manufacture: How Are The Dials Of The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Made?
SIHH is just 10 days away, and the story of this year's show will likely be the 40th anniversary of Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak. While the famed ultra-thin movement (the thinnest in the world with a full rotor), the amazing Genta design, the incredible finishing on the stainless steel case, the fact that the watch essentially created the luxury sport watch category are all great things, the one thing most often overlooked is the unique design to the Royal Oak's dial.Since the very first Royal Oak was sold to the Shah of Iran, and those 1000 A-Series pieces left Le Brassus, they featured dials with a tapisserie pattern on them, a weaving pattern that forms the square and lozenge motif that captures the light and accentuates the timepiece’s "geometric relief." But just how exactly is this pattern created? Well, AP has been subcontracting the production of its Royal Oak dials to one famed dial manufacture all the way from the beginning - Stern Creations. 5712 AD Discount?
I just put down my deposit and have my name on the next 5712 (SS Blue Dial) coming in at a local AD. Is is possible to negotiate a discount on this watch when it arrives as the Nautilus market has heated up as of late? This will be my first Patek. Thanks!
My Pam 312 looks like its dead
I have a 312 that is not working at all. The second hand isn't even moving. The only thing that spins is the half circle that says panerai. Any ideas is it a quick fix, or does it have to be sent in for surgery. What's the warranty on it, and do I just go to an AD and drop it off or send it directly to Panerai. I appreciate the help. Thanks in advance
Plexi maintenance
Do you guys have any interesting plexi maintenance tips? I've always used Mother's Mag & Aluminium Polish and Meguiar's Headlight Protectant on plexi. I know many swear by PolyWatch or even toothpaste but the only real requirement is that it be a very fine abrasive. Heck even CapeCod clothes should work. I just use Mother's because it's cheapest and easier to find. The Meguiar's Proctectant is probably overkill but it's always worked well on my cars. What's worked for you?
