Fortis Andora Emotion Limited Art Edition Watch
Holy crap, what is this thing? I realize this is one of Fortis' edgy "Art Edition" watches, but wow. This is unexpected for even the art version of the serious tool watch brand's products. Limited to just 100 pieces and in a 42mm wide titanium case, this watch isn't just an (questionably bastardized) artist's rendering of a Fortis chronograph watch, but also tries to tell you how to enjoy and spend your time. How does it do that? Will look at the "suggestions" (in German) on the bezel. Set into four quadrants, with three words in each, you should have a new task each time you look at the time. Though you might disagree with the Andora watch's suggestions, and probably rightly so.The dial of the watch is where things get the most strange. Andora's drawings make up the chronograph subdials and the sub seconds dial as well. Who or what these little freaky characters are is beyond my understanding. There is more German in light text revolving the dial (see the translation of it in the tech
Rose Gold: Omega or Rolex
Hello all,After owning the classic Seamaster Bond watch for many years (and living frugally), I am ready to purchase a new all-gold Rolex or Omega (preferably rose gold). The daytona looks great in the pictures, but I can't stand the coppery look of the unpolished parts in person. Do the rose gold Omegas (seamaster or speedmaster) have a coppery look as well? Ideally, I want a metal with a pinkish hue (like the pics online of the everose ddII).If the rose gold doesn't work out, I will opt for an all-gold daytona or yachtmaster. The dial will be black tahitian MOP. Any suggestions as to how the tahitian looks on yellow gold? I've only seen it on white gold daytonas, which looks great, but I have an olive/tan skin that looks better with gold. Also, any suggestions on rose vs. yellow gold on olive skin? Thanks alot for the suggestions! I'll post pics when the purchase is made.
Vintage speedmaster dial...?
I was in a cafe playing backgammon with the owner last week and one of his other friends comes in and sits down and watches us.The whole time I kept staring at his watch because I knew it was an Omega but I've never seen a dial like his, so I finally asked.Apparently it was a Speedmaster he got as a gift in the 80's from a friend. The dial was all white, but it had a weird look to it, kind of like carbon fiber? I have no way to really describe it. It was white, but not like Explorer II white on a Rolex.Edit: it wasn't mother of pearl, either. Unless they used a different style of MOP dials back then. And I hate to say it, but coming from Egypt, the possibility of a fake could be considered, if nobody can find what I'm talking aboutAny ideas/photo suggestions? I want to trade my Tag for one before I buy my Deepsea now.
Bezel Scratches
Well, after a week of owning my 5712, I already managed to get 2 hairline scratches on the bezel, which you can see at a certain angle and lighting.I understand that if you wear the watch, there is really no way around it, yet it was still hard to take in.I was hoping that some of you that wear your Pateks regularly can post some pics of what your watch currently looks like. ( especially Aquanaut and Nautilus)Thanks
Looking for Older Model Datejust - Tuxedo Dial
I am in the market to purchase an older model Datejust with the tuxedo dial. It is not an option that is available on the 2017/18 Model. Just wondering how long ago it was an option, what year it was available. I'm asking so that I know what my chances are of finding a new one.
