Watches NEWS
Breitling Owners -- Help please
A friend just bought one of their non-chronograph COSC cert'd watches. Good looking I might add. Here's the issue, he says it's stopping on him all the time. I asked him if you wears it regularly. He claims to. A brief look at their website seems to show similar watches have about a 42 hr power reserve. These babies have power reserve issues?I told him to give it a good 40 turns Friday am, wear it all day and see how long it takes to stop over the weekend. He seems to think it defective, but I think it's too early to reach that conclusion. Any thoughts?
New Omega Aqua Terra Chrono GMT

2500 or 8500 ?
Paid a visit to one of my local A.D yesterday with the hope of looking for a Planet Ocean Liquid Metal L.E. As you guessed, they didn't have one. On display in front of me was the 45.5mm new Planet Ocean ceramic with orange 6-9-12. I tried this on and was impressed with the quality and weight of the watch and also how the 6-9-12 reflected the light, quite superb! We talked watches for about 20 minutes and I left with the salesman's card and that he would phone Omega UK about the availability of the LM LE and phone me when he has some more info. He phoned today when he said he would with the news that Omega UK have back orders for 77 of the LM LE and couldn't promise that all will be fulfilled. He also mentioned that the 42mm version of the new PO 8500 with the orange 6-9-12 is also on back order with a total of 74 people waiting. Now comes the dilema, do I buy the 45.5mm 8500 PO which is in stock or wait and see if a PO LM LE comes up?The LM LE is priced at ?3700 with no discount due
Your watch at airport security
Just curious to hear what you do when asked to remove your watch?Do you remove it an put it directly in the little plastic box provided by security or do you put it in a carry-on bag so as not to scratch it? Or do you travel with the little green watch pouch provided by Rolex or something similar?I just got mine a few weeks ago and will be traveling soon. Might take the little green pouch/sleeve with me and put it in my carry-on bag just before security.
SS Pepsi Likely To Cause Plunge in WG BLRO Sales
I have been looking to buy a pre-owned BLRO in WG, but I am now just going to buy the SS Pepsi. The SS models hold their value much better, they are easier to sell if you change your mind, they are more durable and now there is little difference in the look, plus the SS Pepsi has the new movement and a much longer lasting power reserve which makes it technically a superior watch to the WG BLRO.The White Gold BLRO was not a big seller before this SS Pepsi was introduced, so I think sales of the WG BLRO are likely to go down even more now which might eventually lead to the model being discontinued or maybe Rolex will upgrade it in some way like the movement. Thoughts?A used WG BLRO is about $23 to $24k today, which is enough to buy a SS Pepsi and a SS Daytona and still have about $2 to $3k left for a fun weekend....Based on that I can't justify a WG BLRO anymore. It needs to drop further in price so that it makes more sense.
