With 2013 almost over, I felt a small recap of the most popular watch blog stories of 2013 might be interesting to look at. These are often difficult to predict but the results are surprising. First, we find that list-style articles perform well on watches-dealer. These appeal to a wider audience than dedicated reviews of hands-on coverage and we are pleased to see a very healthy mainstream interest in content about timepieces. Second, we find that popular brands clearly perform best. Rolex, Omega, and Seiko, as well as Hublot are all the topics of specific articles that have proved successful.What is also interesting, is that most of these articles (but not all) were actually written in 2013. We'd like to think that our best content has been from the last few years, but also know that Google has a tendency to promote newer-versus-older content when possible. Hello, everyone!I am in the process of buying a used 2254.50, the watch is in excelent condition, with the bracelet having been refinished recently to look like new.However, the warraty card is dated July 2004 and the service history is unknown, so I assume it would be advisable to have a full service of the watch after purchase, since it is a 9 year old piece and it seems to be running a bit slow. Having that in mind, how much should I expect to pay for a full service/overhaul of the watch from an independant watchmaker? (I will be in the US for about a week only, so I don't have time to send the watch to Omega).I am very excited about this purchase, it is such an iconic watch! I was torn between this piece and a Seamaster 300, but looked hard at both and decided on the 2254.Thanks in advance!

In a effort to diversify my watch collection even further, I have decided to add a Panerai 510. I have tried on many models and discovered this is my best choice based on a few things.... I want a open case back, no bigger than 44mm, in house movement and priced under 9k. I looked at the 111 but is too thick and does not have a in house movt. Plus, it is now discontinued. A bonus is that it comes with a strap I really like (a lot of them do not). I have put in an order from my AD for a new 510 in the box (I have found a couple 510's at AD's but they all have scratches on them and some pretty bad. I guess they bang them into other watches while putting them away in the safe every night). Hopefully I am only gonna have to wait another week on no longer.:bang head:Will upload pics once I get it.

Rolex Yacht-Master 116622
Hi everyone I'm undecided between Rolex Yacht-Master (116622- Dark Rhodium Dial) and the GMT Master ll 116710LN. I know there is a noticeable price difference between these two models but I kind of like the thinner Yacht-Master on my hand. I was told that the bezel of the Yacht-Master shows the scratches more and its non-polishable. I'm also concern about holding the value of the Yacht-Master compared to the GMT Master ll. Can anyone who has the same watch confirm the above?
