Watches NEWS
Is it worth it for solid gold?
Ok so I was in my usual grey dealer having a look tonight and to be honest the FC 44 isn't floating my boat so to speak ... so.. while I was there I noticed he had a solid gold 44mm novelty in mint full set 2014He proposed a deal to trade my FC and my sd4k +$4kusdNow I really like the solid gold and it's got heft but is this a good deal? Is it worth that much more then my forged carbon? The deal is in the table for 24hours only because he's got a buyer for the sd4k now... opionions guys? Am I gonna do my money on this?
Thinking about a 15202
The more I look at it the more I am mesmerized by it. I think it would make a good companion to the 5712 and the chronometre bleu. But I'd probably have to part with one or two of my watches to make room so question is which would you part with? These are the watches in my collection that I wear the least (though I wear the ROC more than the other two) but the ROC was my first nice watch. Also would you think having a Jumbo and a ROC would be too repetitive? Option A: Sell SubC Date + IWC Portuguese 75th anniversary LE in steel for 15202stOption B: Sell AP ROC Panda 26300st and get 15202st
Celebrating a milestone
I'm about to hit a major career milestone in two weeks. Thinking about celebrating with what else? A Patek of course. Yes I'm just rationalizing another purchase. What would you pick if you were celebrating a big career milestone today?
Took a little break...
but now its back on the wrist! I haven't worn my 372 for the last 3-4 months because I'm not a fan of how leather feels during the summer heat and humidity. Almost flipped it because of the lack of wrist time but I'm glad I didn't. I feel like I've fallen in love all over again
Yachtmaster - No Love for the 116622
So I'm considering a YM 116622 in either blue or rhodium grey. As I'm perusing the posts, it seems it's not one of the favored Rolex models on the forum. I've noticed a couple of common themes:---Some people think it has an identity crisis (not sporty or dressy)---Some people have referred to it as feminineI think it's a great looking watch and am wondering if it's the price point that makes it a bit of a red-headed stepchild on the forum?Curious to get some thoughts...
