2013 Hong Kong Watch Fair Coming Soon
watches-dealer will return to the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair this September to once again explore the world of watches from a more Eastern perspective. The largest show of its kind, the Hong Kong watch show is an amazing "Timepiece Extravaganza" (their words) that better reflects the broader watch market compared to the mostly high-end demographic that we tend to focus on when covering Baselworld or SIHH.One of the most interesting aspects of the show is being able to understand what technology or material is really becoming popular and mass produced. For example, last year we started to see lots of GPS watches and knew that their dominance over traditional atomic clock radio signal watches was coming. We covered the 2012 Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair here. We look forward to seeing what manufacturers are keen on producing for 2013 at the upcoming show. While many of the brands we will see are mainly distributed in Asia, these are also many of the same companies that produce a
CE delimma
Hello fellow WIS's,I decided to get a 44 and now between 2 options: - keep CE dive,r that I really like, and get the ti 44- let go of the CE diver and get the 44 CE (will probably have to pay $9K or so on top)I'm torn between the ti and the CE. Both are good in their own way. Love the descrete yet eye catching CE and also love the pop of the ti and the grey theme. What would you do? I would love to have both but that's. It possible unfortunately.
Help ID Vintage Omega
This watch was purchased new by my grandfather (maybe early 60s?). Until last week, it has been sitting in a safe for many many years. It still runs but I have no idea what model/series/year, etc. Only marking on it is a small '14k' on the back of the case. Can anyone help me identify it? I am pretty confident that's a one of a kind, vintage Omega grail worth more than a house! Thanks in advance for any help or insights. Sorry the pic isnt the greatest. Hoping to post better ones soon.
Patek - Daily Wearing? 5726
Hey everyone - sometime before the end of the year I will be ordering/purchasing a new Patek 5726 Grey on a Bracelet - I have loved the look of the watch ever since i saw it at our local AD a few years back before I really could afford to buy it.So my small collection of nice watches so far is all Rolex, I have a black 116610 sub and also a blue white gold 116619 sub as well - both of these watches swap places on my wrist for months at a time, except when I wear one of my basic watches when I do yard work and stuff - this is where my question lies - is the Patek built to be worn daily?? My job isn't crazy, I am a office guy working in the marketing technology space - but have never had something this nice before and I just wanted to understand how 'daily wearer' this watch can be.When spending this much on a nice thing, early on I know it will be for special occasions only - but over time as I get comfortable it will likely spend weeks/months on my wrist - so just trying to understand
