Inside BaselWorld San Francisco Dinner Afterthoughts: Weirdo Watch Afficianado Roundup
I feel the need to talk about this event, even though I attended it in June (of 2007). I read WatchTime magazine and learned about a watch dinner (Inside Basel World) that was to be a recap of the events and news of Basel World 2007. For those of you who don't know, Basel World is the big watch trade show of the year held in Switzerland. The opportunity to attend an event like this in San Francisco was too appealing. $60 with dinner and a "goody bag?" Yea, I could not resist. It was being held about a month before I took the bar exam, at which point I would have done just about anything to get my mind off studying.Wearing a suit to the event, I assumed correctly how I am supposed to dress. To the left is a picture on their website of me staring in some aficionado's watch case. What I wasn't prepared for was being one of the only guys not "double wristing" it. Suggestions for my first Patek
Hello, i'm in the process of building my dream collection. Ive currently got a Rolex Explorer MK2 and a Speedy Pro. Also, i have on order the uber sexy Lange Saxonia Thin 37mm in Pink gold!Seeing that many of you are experts on PP and have an extensive collection, i figured i might seek your advice on which one to go for. I'm looking for a piece with a complication including a Moonphase. Not interested in the Nautilus whatsoever and preferably without the massive rotor. Micro rotor is my preference.Thank you!

Dear All,I have been having this dilemma for quite some time now... Being a great fan of the brand & as someone who doesn't really enjoy wearing colored gold, I have been eyeing at these two pieces for my next PP. Just wondering which one of these two is the more popular choice at this forum? Please leave some comments/suggestions and even pics if you own any (or both) of these two beauties!*I already own a 5711 (blue) in my collection.

After thoughts and decisions
So, after purchasing the 560, I have come to realize that now is probably the best time to buy Panerai watches. Prices are more affordable and there are less craze over it. Before, it used to be so hard to find stock in HK AND the prices were just outrageous. Anyways, so after wearing the 560 for a few days, I find myself looking more and more about the history and styles of Panerai. The more I look, the more i want to purchase another one!!! So now I am also eyeing the 510 or the 01312.The thing I don't particular like about the 01312 is the word automatic. I know the 510 is very similar with the 560 except for the extra seconds hand. So now I must think carefully which one to consider.

Why not buy from a Grey dealer
I have seen numerous comments on lack of Rolex SS Sports watches from AD.I bought two a sub from an AD in Chicago, Datejust41 from AD Detroit.But I'f you really wanted the watch now, why wouldn't you just purchase from a Grey, who appear to have a lot of inventory..
