Watches NEWS
Incoming. Special edition AP RO: The "Ironman"
Look at the color...the attention to detail. It's a little large on my son, but he'll grow into it. No AD experience but quick shipping and great service. $12.00 USD on Amazon. I had David SW looking for months, but the elusive red on red dial and strap configuration was not easy to find.Oh...No discount! ;-)
Breitling Top Time
Does anyone here own a Breitling, three-register Top Time? I have one I purchased over twenty years ago and see very little about this watch on any of the forums. When I purchased mine, it was an NOS, new old stock, Breitling and was manufactured back in the 1970's. I purchased it from a watch shop in Miami that had several vintage NOS Breitlings in their display case. At the time, it seemed like a great purchase. If you own one of these vintage Breitlings, how about posting a photo here.Thanks.
experience
I am thinking of acquiring Patek ref 5204p-011. An authorized Patek dealer in Switzerland has a wait of 1 to 2 years. Is it advisable to pay a down payment or full price now with the understanding that the price may be different at the time of delivery.
Lucky day at the airport (first Rolex)
So, I was walking through Schiphol on Friday, with an hour to kill before my flight home, when I happened upon a 116710LN at the airside Gassan store. It was sitting the the display window (the only SS model they had) and the salesperson said she had just put it out there minutes before.Moments later, it was on my wrist, and I boarded my flight home with a big smile. This is my first Rolex, and as a frequent business traveller, I think the GMT complication will be very useful. Here's a quick picture taken from the lounge. By the way, for those who might be interested in buying a watch from the airport, I paid exactly MSRP minus VAT (which in NL, is 21%), so in this case 7,750 EUR - VAT = 6,404 EUR.
I finally did it!
First off, I want to say I love this forum but you're all enablers. Ever since I was very young I have always enjoyed watches and I've always had the dream of a submariner. The lines and the prestige are just right and it's an iconic design like a Ferrari 275 GTB/4. Well, my wife said to me, you're turning 35 this year and sounds like as good a time as any to finally get what you want. I struggled waiting another couple of months and with the rumored shortage in production, my wife and I agreed the time is now. Many thanks to Aamir at SohAIS for being so patient with me. I am thrilled with my new watch.
