5167 - Things to know before buying?
I'm looking for a second watch to add to my collection and I've started to warm up to the Aquanaut, especially on a bracelet. Coming from just a Rolex, is there anything special to know or consider before buying a 5167 or a Patek in general? Thanks.
3 years and counting
No it's not the service time on a Patek watch I have a friend of mine, the only one really interested in watches, normal he sells them, who told me the other day that he has an order at a patek AD, didn't say which one, for a 5711 that he passed 3 years ago, he celebrated the birthday the other day by calling the AD who told him Jerome you're still on the list don't worry, you're arriving at the top soon, with Patek soon can mean 6, 12, 18 months, no one knows, Patek time is like another dimension, something unknown and impossible to understand to us simple mortalsThat's really crazy, when I went to the Paris salon to pass an order for the 5712 they wouldn't even take it, said the waiting list was too huge, and not only on 5711/5711/5167, on all SS models, there is not one SS Nautilus or 5167 on which they take orders, except the 5164, which was basically the only one I was able to try but even if it's very nice it wouldn't be a keeper for me, the 5712 is and I hope the 5167R will b
Off Topic -- need your opinions about VC Chrono or AP Diver
dear all, I guess this is the best place to ask such an opinion - I want some opinions based on versatility, quality, market forecast and of course, your personal taste for a trade proposed to me.I have this Diver since newAnd I'm test driving this VC Overseas ChronoBoth are nice, and my goal originally was to replace the Diver with an PP 5167A later on, then the VC came to the game.Should I keep the Diver for later switch, or grab the VC - that's almost same value as Diver's - what you guys recommend? thanks in advance!
Would you trade a SS Daytona C white dial for a BNIB SS sky dweller blue
I got my SS Daytona C in a white dial in November and have worn it exactly 3 times ,going through this forum posts and seeing the SS Skydweller I am tempted to do a trade for a BNIB SS sky dweller blue Do you gentlemen think it's a good move ? I am on the waitlist for the SD ... and can afford to keep both ... but getting impatient
Is there a Daytona SS shortage of supply from Rolex now?
I am guessing that a month or two prior to and up through Christmas that Rolex churns out extra supply of Rolex's including the Daytona. Right now it seems no one is offering a BNIB 116500LN Daytona. Is the next big supply coming toward Father's Day or maybe even Valentine's Day?I do understand supply and demand. Prices just keep going up. I may just opt to buy a 18K white gold Daytona as it seems to be a better value than the ridiculous pricing now for the SS models. It's also interesting how tastes have changed. Seems no one wants to be caught dead wearing a yellow 18K gold Daytona -- although the pricing seems indicative of a buyer's market.
