The F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain Bleu, A Unique Tantalum-Cased Watch, For Only Watch 2015
Hot on the heels of the Tudor and Patek Philippe, Phillips Watches has announced a new unique piece from F.P.Journe to be auction off at this year's Only Watch – the Tourbillon Souverain Bleu. This is the first time that F.P.Journe has participated in the Only Watch auction and they did not disappoint. Based on the Chronomètre Bleu, which we reviewed here last year, this is one of the few tourbillon wristwatches to be housed in a tantalum-case. This is not the first time that F.P. Journe has used tantalum, as it was used to case the Chronomètre Bleu Byblos Limited Edition. 1 OF 2 2 OF 2 The Tourbillon Souverain features a reflective chrome blue dial and has an 18k pink-gold, in-house movement, which is fitted with a remontoire. This watch will be auctioned off on November 7 to raise funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. For more information click here.
Rubber strap for 15400 white dial, small wrist question
Hi folk. Had AP itch for ages and hopefully going to scratch it soon... So my aim is for the white dial 15400. I understand this is 41mm and tend to wear large due to the metal bracelets. 6.25 inch wrist here and I would hate to see gaps hanging between my wrist !I've had a chance to try on my cousins roo white diver last month- and being 42mm the rubber strap actually fits / hugs pretty decent ( although small gaps still exist). However I know I can never truly enjoy this diver as a daily wearer due to the height and size of the case. Great casual watch never the less. So my goal is to have white dial 15400 with white rubber strap. Is this doable ?Other thing to bear in mind is that where I live there is no AP AD . So would have to purchase everything though a grey dealer. Not sure how easy it would be to get the parts...etc.P.s. I don't like leather band so much. Rubber for the sporty look!
Vintage setup day
Datora 785's,a little taxing to keep them all in sync but a pleasure to watch these 40's beauties in action, my favourite vintage Breitling reference!
Thinking of buying a Patek Philippe 5726/1A-00
One of my local AD had one come in last week they've been holding for me (w/a deposit) and I'm having a hard to pulling the trigger. I've not purchase from them before. The AD I purchase my Rolexes and PAMs through has a 10 person waiting list for this Patek and told me it would be 2-3 years before I would see this watch. I trust them as I've bought many hard to get watches as one if their good customers (PAM 507 & 508)I called around to out of states ADs looking for the 5726 before I found the one locally, and all of them did not have one in stock and said it's difficult to aquire. This would be my first Patek and although I have spend more on only one other watch I have, not sure if I can justify the $44k price tag plus the taxes.Has others who have wanted this watch experienced the same challenge with availability? I love the watch, there's a simplisty to this gorgeous looking complicated watch and I understand the band to be extremely comfortable. Thanks for again for the fee
