New "Pink Panther" Concept Watch From Virtual Ideas Is New View On Women's Luxury
When you see an item you haven't seen before your mind always experiences the same reaction. A complex measuring of mental association whereby you compare the item in your view with almost everything you've seen before. This is essentially the mental heuristic we use to determine what something is; a bridging of mental associations and experiences. So when we see something new, we can either identify it as having a relationship to something we have seen before, or ponder its style and function as a novel observation.I know the Pink Panther from Virtual Ideas is a watch. I can tell from the way it is designed with a wrist strap and because it has numbers that a watch would have; It also helped knowing that it was designed by a watch designer. Despite knowing the Pink Panther is a watch, it is difficult to correctly place it in the amorphous watch taxonomy that exists in my head. The diamonds and rose gold case say luxury. The complex mechanical movement that would have been used to powe
ROO 44 - Ti, old RG or new RG
I've decided to add a ROO 44 to the collection. If you all had to pick, which would you go for? I'd be wearing this relatively casually as I don't dress up often. Side note - is there still new stock of the old style RG? Or did this get discontinued a while back.
I joined the Speedy club
Hey All,Recently came across an Speedy Broad Arrow Re issue 1957 on a local vintage watch dealer, tried it in the store and instantly fall in love with it (did not bought it at the store as they were asking too much). Don't really understand why a SpeedMaster is not in my collection in my early days of becoming a WIS is beyond me..:-sPicked this one up from a trusted dealer here in TRF, thanks Mr.W!Now I truly understand the allure of the SpeedMaster; classic design, rich history, iconic watch! It is hard to resist this beautiful timepiece from Omega!Enough talk..here are some pics, not great ones as I took them in the office with the Iphone and some photoshop tweaks. And yes..I have realized this Speedy should be 3594.50..not what it is on the electronic bean counter..silly me
Servicing my 5205g
My 2 week old 5205g has been scratched. I have no idea how it happened!Since this is my first Patek, this has lead me to wonder about some of the aspects of servicing. My AP, for example, I can service it within two years regardless if it is broken or not, and they did mine for free. They also polished the case in the process.Does service work the same way with Patek? Thanks in advance!
Daytona vs AP Royal Oak
I have my eye on the 116500LN but will need to pay grey market prices or alternatively an AP RO 15400ST black dial.It terms of functionality I'd likely use the date more than a chrono. Aesthetically I love both, my wife prefers the uniqueness of the AP.Given the grey market prices on the 116500LN i feel opting for the RO makes more sense in terms of finishing I will receive for the price but I'm still conflicted.Opinions welcome, particularly if someone owns both!
