Incoming: Royal Oak vs Daytona
Hi guysSome of you will remember that I put a collection strategy together a couple of years ago, and it's nearly complete. Today, another piece of the jigsaw arrived in the shape of the Royal Oak 15450.When choosing which Royal Oak to get, I spent a vast amount of time looking at size comparisons, and I'm glad to report I made the right choice! My wrists are 6.5 so not very big, so I was torn between 37mm and 39mm but the 37mm is perfect for me.As I really like the way the Daytona wears, I spent a lot of time looking for comparisons on the wrist between the Daytona and the 15450. So, I thought others may be in the same boat and it would be useful to share a couple of photos. The bottom line is that they both wear differently, but both work for me brilliantly, and people should forget the stigma attached to the 37mm!
Finally a Diver
Pull the trigger for a Diver finally!!After getting the ROO Chrono a month ago, I must confess that I am deeply attracted to the beauty of AP, especially the Diver. Upon a sudden call from the AD with a good deal on discount plus the AP bug bitten hard lately, I take this back home finally. Here's some pics to share with you. Here's the side by side with the Chrono. They look very similar but dissimilar - to be honest, I'm liking the Diver more now. But I like to see the AP logo on the Chrono more. Here's the side by side with my all time favourite, Sub-Date. The Sub-Date looks really small although it is only 2mm smaller. I must say that AP wins on the edge of design and more eye catching while Rolex wins my trust on its accuracy and ruggedness.Given the Chrono and Diver is such a close look, I will try to write more on the comparison later when I have time.Getting two AP in two months time - I must be crazy and AP addicted!!My next step is to get a shorter rubber strap for the Diver
An Old Favorite
With 2 Rolex's, a Tudor and Breitling sometimes the Omega feels slighted and lacks wrist time. All I do is wear it a few days in a row and it reconfirms that fact that's it's an awesome watch and I'll never part with it....20140402_112538_resized.jpg20140402_112640_resized.jpg
Panerai Left vs Right : 557 vs 372 !
Hello all,Here's a packshot review about 2 watches that are almost identical but symmetrical twins : * Panerai PAM00372 serial N1xxx/3500 with Ted Su ammo strap* Panerai PAM00557 serial Q0xxx/700 with Attirail ammo strapWhat is similar :- same P3000 manual winding caliber- same 3-6-9-12 sandwich dial- same plexi glass with additionnal spare glass- Same golden hands - Same crown. What differs : - Case is different, not just flipped back, with specific engravings>> PAM 372 >> OP 6835 at 6 o'clock >> PAM00372 at 12 o'clock>> PAM 557 >> OP 69876 at 6 o'clock >> PAM00557 at 12 o'clock- The winding crown protector is not the same, it is in fact totally symmetrical, and not just set up reversed.
