AP Divers
Haven't posted very much to this forum, but have been reading for a while. I bought a 15202 steel last year and am thinking about adding a diver. I have been looking at the white/blue boutique only dial that launched in 2017. Apologies if this has been discussed at length before, but what is generally considered the taxonomy of desirable AP divers? The crazy colors from this year and last year seem too much to me. But what is considered the canonical example of a modern AP diver and how does something like the white/blue version fit in? Is the ceramic significantly better? Any thoughts appreciated. Royal Oak 15400ST with Rubber Strap Installed!
Hi All, This is a follow up to my thread Rubber strap conversion kit for RO 15400.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=509520I snapped pics throughout the entire install process. It's a little tricky and a little bit more time consuming than changing out a Rolex or Patek with spring bars, but once the brackets are installed on the rubber, it's only a pair of screws for each strap. Not bad at all.So if you don't mind, i'll post pics from start to finish and end off with the end product. Kind of like a strip tease lol. Enjoy! So the conversion kit consists of a few screws, a pair of brackets for each strap, and the beautiful AP deployment.pic1.jpgI started with installing the deployment on the strap.pic2.jpgOne screw to remove the bar to attach the deployment.pic3.jpgLook at that AP!pic4.jpgRemove the braceletpic5.jpgThere's also a bar in between the lugs. I used the flat screw driver head to push it out.pic6.jpgAnd the bracelet is off.picXXX.jpgNow to the straps. Insert the brackets into t
This situation happened to me
Hi Guys,I'm after some advice/ opinions please. I find myself in an awkward situation. I recently ordered a new strap for my Rose Gold AP from and authorised APSC here in the UK, at this stage I'm not going to name them until its all resolved. As I want to give them the opportunity to put this right.A few weeks after placing the order I get a call to advise that my strap has arrived and if I swing by to pick it up the watchmaker will fit it for me. So far so good. The next day I swing by the store to collect the strap watch safely in case with me and am told the watchmaker is off sick and someone else can fit for me from their watch shop, at this point the gentleman standing behind the counter who wasn't looking after me piped up and said that he could fit it for me instead. I queried this as I didn't feel comfortable and he said that he would have a look and if he felt he couldn't do it he would leave it alone and we could revert back to the original plan.He took my watch to a back of
Diver will not start up
Over the weekend my I series diver will stop working from not wearing it. However the watch will not startup again when I wear it again. Regardless of the time, I can wear it for couple of days still the watch will move a few seconds when I shake it vigorously then stop again. I can get it start by rotating the crown when adjusting the time.Is it normal? All my other automatic watches start up within a few minutes of wearing.
Once you go AP, you never go back?
As many of you know, I traded my Daytona for a black-dialed ROC 25860. I've got some other nice watches, but think I may have the AP bug. I'm finding it is harder and harder to grab my other watches off of the winder. Is this a permanent malady or are my other watches safe from flipping? Some times I think I can have my AP and a beater.
