Over Sized, Over-BLANK... Overkill!
This article should benefit your perception of media and advertising. Today I take issue with use of terms such as "over sized, over stuffed, over...anything." They make me angry! And I'd like you to feel the same way anytime you see or hear them.I recall a few years ago looking to purchase a new comforter for my bed. I kept seeing the same thing time after time, "over stuffed" with goose down. I had no idea what this meant. Is there some governing body of "Sizes and Stuffing Standards" that dictates how much things ought to be stuffed or sized? Where these pioneering comforter makers ruthlessly defying such standards by putting just a bit too much in the offending comforter? Resulting in the dreadful "overstuffed" label? Oh for shame, rebellious maker of over stuffed goods. Whatever will the consumer think with their bedding on the verge of explosion? Perhaps that is why you are forced to peddle your goods solely on eBay, you rogue bedding trader. But the "over" label does not stop the
Hands-On: With the Monoposto, Autodromo's First Mechanical Watch (Live Pics)
A few weeks ago we gave you an early look at the Monoposto, the first mechanical watch from Autodromo, a cool, well-conceived upstart based right here in NYC. Inspired by mid-century Italian grand prix cars, the Monoposto combines serious motoring heritage with very wearable style. Today we give you a hands-on look at this limited edition automatic. At 43mm, the Monoposto is starting to get up there in size, but it wears nicely. The tapered case sits nicely on the wrist and the thin, turned bezel makes the watch appear a millimeter or two smaller than it really is. The wire lugs might make changing straps a little fiddly, but they are pitched at just the right angle to keep the watch sitting nicely. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the details here. 2 OF 23 The Autodromo Monoposto, Black Dial The dial is bright, clean, and easy to read, but the first thing you'll probably notice is the bright red line between 9 and 10 o'clock. This line, inspired by
Anyone use a bracelet??
Hey guys, I have a pam499 and 5 diff straps, I saw a pam352 today, black dial with steel bracelet and realized I hardly ever see a bracelet panerai out in the wild. Was trying to see if a steel bracelet would fit on my 499, anyone try this? 352 is 44m as well so I don't see why not but maybe I'm missing something?
GMT II with 3186 vs 3185
Hi Quick questions came to mind as I was reading another post regarding the New High of the 3186. I don't get it, but it is what it is.https://.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=5906191. Do the Rolex movements have serial numbers/codes/markings on them?2. What's to stop an unscrupulous person with a late Z or early M series 16710 with a 3185 and swap it out with a 3186 from a 116710?Thanks
Which wrist?
I see a lot of folks wearing a watch on the right wrist. Always thought left was considered the traditional way of wearing a timepiece. A bit of a silly question to ask, that I know but, I was just curious to those who wear it on the right. Is it because you're left handed and you wear it on the right?
