Jaeger-LeCoultre Announces Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 U.S. Edition
This past December, Jaeger-LeCoultre marked the Reverso’s 80th anniversary with two Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 models. Today the brand introduces a new addition to the line, to be available exclusively at the Beverly Hills Boutique and select U.S. retailers. Find pricing and wallpaper inside. The timepieces introduced in December feature black or white dials with dagger-shaped hands and baton hour markers with white luminescent material, inspired by the original Reverso. The new U.S. edition differs in small but aesthetically important ways: it has straight hands with pointed tips, and to give the U.S. edition an aged look, Jaeger-LeCoultre used tan luminescent material.Another difference lies in the straps. By now it is well known that the Reverso was originally created for English polo players who needed a rugged watch to wear during their matches. In honor of the brand’s longstanding association with the sport, the straps for the Tribute to 1931 U.S. editio
Inside The Manufacture: Five Super Cool Things I Saw Inside The Patek Philippe Factory
I was thrilled to spend two days in Geneva with a little upstart company (that I think is really on to something!) called Patek Philippe. While the news was really around hand-crafts and the preservation of both hand engraving and enameling (as demonstrated on the monster new 6002G Sky Moon Tourbillon), we were treated to a tour of the PP factory. We saw a lot of amazing stuff, and now for your viewing pleasure, here are five of the coolest things I saw while inside the Patek Philippe factory: 1. ?These Two Perpetual Calendar Minute Repeater Pocketwatches Minute repeaters are, in my very humble opinion, the ultimate complication. They are beautiful, romantic, and each entirely unique. They exemplify what makes traditional watchmaking so interesting. They are also incredibly difficult to make. Here are two vintage minute repeating pocket watches that just happen to be repeaters. Oh, and perpetual calendars. While the first, w
Calling all Omega experts
Hi guys, just wondering if there's any sort of resource on the web that lists all the so called 'limited edition' Speedies for at least the last 10 years? Quite curious to know what and how many of these Speedies were released. Second question has to do with choosing between two Speedies. Which would you buy; a Speedmaster Alaska Project or a Speedmaster Pro Apollo 11 35th Anniversary Limited Edition 3500? I've already made up my mind towards the latter but I'm curious about your thoughts as well? Which of the two is more rare/special in your opinion? Copper
Any owners of the new 5396g grey dial yet?
I would love to see as many pics as you might have (especially, if possible, next to other watches to give a good idea as to how it compares in size). Thanks!
Ferrite, meteor, and other stone type dials
I was in an ad today and they had a ferrite dial day date. I had never seen one before. Needless to say it was beautiful. They didn't have a meteor dial but I am aware of them. (Man I would love to own a meteor dial one day.) I think I saw a tiger eye dial one time and mop dials are fairly common. This got me wondering about the other Rolex dials made of natural substances (other than gold and platinum) like stones and meteors. Does anyone know or have a picture of any other types of stone or natural material dials? Thank you in advance. Love the information on this site.
