Maurice de Mauriac L1 Watch Designed By Fabian Schwaerzler
Zurich-based watch maker Maurice de Mauriac has just released the new L1 watch designed by the acclaimed (and award-winning) Swiss industrial designer Fabian Schwaerzler. The result is an attractively modern Bauhaus style watch that combines Swiss style with Germanic functionalism - which makes sense given that Zurich is in the German-speaking part of the country. In the future we will investigate what the relationship between Maurice de Mauriac and Fabian Schwaerzler is all about and how they hooked up. Oftentimes, big-name designers end up working with larger brands on special series timepieces with their unique aesthetic stamp. In this situation, Schwaerzler decided to work with a boutique brand, probably because it was a project of passion allowing the two an opportunity to focus on the product versus marketing and less fulfilling commercial matters (well, to artists that is).The L1 watch takes a familiar Maurice de Mauriac style case sized at 39mm wide in steel, and adds a domed AR
Dislodged crown and stem
I decided to give my Panda wrist time last night after sitting in the box for 6 days. I gently pulled the crown to adjust the date and time and to my horror, the whole stem came with it. I put it back in the case hole and tried to pull it back again, the crown and the stem simpyl slid off. I wasn't able to sleep because of this and would probably have nightmares when I bring it to the AD for repair. Will it be an easy fix or a burden to the pockets? My 2 year warranty expired last year and just applied for the 3rd year after reading the threads this morning.
No hacking the seconds hand
Discoved that the seconds hand on my new (to me) 5167 can't be hacked to a 00:00 reset. I was glad to read on a couple of sites that it's a Patek feature (or omission, depending on your point of view) and not a defect on my piece. That would have been a traumatic flub as it just came from a PP servicing. Called my saleswoman, she was surprised, and would check with her watchmaker. How come she didn't know straight away? She's a Patek AD! Why didn't you guys tell me this? Is it expected that new owners are supposed to discover this secret on their own? Otherwise my Aquanaut is performing admirably, accurate to within 2 seconds over the past three days. And it looks great, sits low on the wrist.
it's been a VERY long time since I saw such a WONDERFULL watch
The more I see it the more I love itThe PAM 519 and 520 are so perfect.Panerai made a watch which could be a vintage Patek. ( not talking about the size because we won't find vintage 45mm patek chronographs) but the combination of dial and case is so perfect.I'm pretty sure these 2 will get a lot of attention and not only from people who love Panerai but people who never thought about buying a PaneraiDon't know how they did it but this is a watch doesn't look like all the other Panerai notwithstanding it has the same case as any other 1940 caseI never thought I would mention Panerai and Patek in one sentence but in this case they deserve it. The movement is absolutely wonderful ( Minerva origin) . But a Patek is still better finishedWOW JUST WOW
SS BLRO Case/Lugs
Can anyone clarify if the case and/or lugs have gotten smaller?
