Watches NEWS
In defense of the Patek E23 (on ref. 3747)
I own the 3747 and love it. Yes, it's a Quartz and not mechanical. Frankly, I don't care. The watch itself is gorgeous (I'm getting it serviced by Patek now and have ordered a navy blue stitched alligator strap which I'll post once I have the watch back). I also love the date function, which unfortunately is missing on the new Golden Ellipse models. Couple of reasons why I purchased this watch: A. Did I say it's gorgeous? I know it's more expensive than other Quartz watches, but the quality and aesthetics of this piece are, quite frankly, unmatched. B. I don't have to wind it - ever.C. It tells me the perfect time - every day.D. The service costs are considerably more cheaper.E. I can put it away and wear my Audemars automatic watch for weeks and know that when I pick up the Patek, it will be running (assuming of course the battery doesn't need to be replaced ;))If Patek ever comes out with a GE with a date function in an automatic movement, I could consider upgrading. Until then, this
Panerai 171 - to be polished
Dear All,it's always a pleasant to read your answers.I am planning to purchase this 171 Panerai...the Watch is full set, J or K serie.Nevertheless, look on picture how wearing such nice the previous owner distroyed it plenty of scratches....do you think that being polished at Panerai service center, it will come like new?thank you for replies.regardsKr.
Buying OEM honey croc strap + deployant from AD
I'm considering making my first foray into the Panerai world, and have found a 40mm piece I'm interested in. It comes on the bracelet, though, and I definitely want a strap.Around how much should I expect to pay for an OEM honey croc strap and polished deployant?Basically this, but OEM instead of aftermarket.I'd go pre-owned but it seems really hard to find these 40mm straps and clasps on the second hand market.
rolex is growing on me
I always had a dislike for rolex. I thought of it as a flashy/snobby/overpriced watch. I had my sights on other watches like omega, panerai, and zenith. The entire time however i always wanted a submariner. I had a love for dive watches and the sub seemed to be the best dive watch for the money. I said it would be my first and only rolex I would buy. 4 months ago I started my search and was in the market for a submariner. Although on my quest I fell in love with the Daytona. Not realizing the market I thought I could just walk into an AD and buy one for msrp. Boy was I wrong. So back in september I pulled the trigger and bought my first rolex a submariner. Now I have a new found love for rolex . I went from telling myself I would never buy a rolex besides the sub ND to planning my next rolex purchase. Now my list stands at 3 watches I want:Submariner (Sept '17)Daytona-C Black SS (???)GMT Master 116710BLNR (???)when will this bug stop? On a positive note, watch for an inco
