Oris Big Crown X1 Calculator Watch
Usually Oris "Big Crown" watches are rather retro. This one isn't as retro visually and feels like something a helicopter pilot would have worn during the Vietnam era, or even today. Though none of that is what the watch is based on - at least through name. Oris opted to dedicate this new watch to the famous Bell X-1 range of planes that were designed and flown simply to go fast.First flown in what I believe was the late 1940s, the X-1 was basically a flying bullet powered by a rocket engine. It was also the first plane to break the sound barrier and had a top speed of about Mach 1.1. They look a bit ahead of their time, like fighter planes from a 1960s era sci-fi flick. Especially because many of them were painted orange. Aside from feeling like something that would be at home in the cockpit of an X-1 plane, the only real nod to the X-1 are the "X" and "1" character done in relief on the chronograph pushers.Like any aspiring pilot's chronograph watch, the Oris Big Crown X-1 Calculator
Rado Ceramica Chronograph Limited Edition Watch
Barely emerging of the case, pushers this signal shows functions and are perfectly integrated in the profile of this model. Standing: the Crown gold corresponding to each connection. As for the legendary ceramic, a new innovative development: mat aspect and exceptionally dense color, provide a striking contrast with the brightness of gold and the brillinace of the metallic black crystal. The packaging of this outstanding collection, also designed by Jasper Morrison, is made of black leather and has no visible seam. Simple and pure. The chemical symbol representing the alloy of gold of the model set out in the box: AuPd, Au2N, Au3N, Au4N, or Au5N, is stamped on the upper surface heat. Refinement of the corresponding tones, revealing more day after day - designed to meet the product it protects. The watch is placed in the area such as on a wrist.

Seamaster Olympia Chronometer - Lillehammer Winter Olympics 1994
Hi all,Does anyone have insight about the limited edition Seamaster made for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer?Apparently only 194 were made (194 full size and 194 mid size). While the technical specs are nothing special, I am wondering if being a limited edition of less than 200 will make it attractive price wise. What do you think it should fetch (box, no papers, no leather straps)? Has been worn but is otherwise in good condition.Any feedback is appreciated.
Problem with display back on my Omega 2254.50
Some of you may recall that I installed a Thomas Preik display back on my Explorer II. There was no problem with it other than it changed the way the watch sat on my wrist. It was not as comfortable as the original. And as the Rolex movements are not as nicely finished as most other watches, I sold the back and restored the original steel back. With the money from the sale, I ordered another display back from Thomas for my 2254.50 SMP. In error, he sent a back for a mid-size SMP. I notified him of the mistake and he immediately sent me the correct back. I returned the mid-size back to him.I installed the correct back myself and later took it to my watchmaker for pressure testing. It failed miserably. The Preik back was a half mm larger in diameter which prevented the back from sealing properly. My watchmaker offered to reduce the diameter with his lathe for a proper fit but I wanted to consult with Thomas before letting him do the work.I have now emailed Thomas four times (begi
