Richard Mille Donates Rafael Nadal RM 027 to Only Watch Charity Auction
On September 22, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco will preside over the fourth Only Watch auction of exceptional watches. The proceeds of this event, organized by Antiquorum Auctioneers, will be used to fund research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy. To support this worthy cause, Richard Mille has contributed a unique and symbolic watch to be offered during this charity auction. Launched in 2005 by Luc Pettavino, President of the Monegasque Association Against Muscular Dystrophies, Only Watch mobilizes the world's most prestigious watchmakers who donate unique and limited pieces to be auctioned during the Monaco Yacht Show. All proceeds are used to fund research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy, an extremely debilitating neuromuscular disease that affects one boy in every 3500.Having supported Only Watch from the beginning, Richard Mille wanted to donate one of its most emblematic creations to Only Watch 2011: the RM 027 tourbillon developed for and in collaboration with Rafael Nadal. Richard Mille RM032 Dark Diver Chronograph Watch
Let's face it, there are not many brands like Richard Mille. They are effectively the Pagani Automobili of the watch world as they have consistently pushed the limits and interaction of materials, technology, and design. Richard Mille is famous for their use of massively complex skeleton movements, curved tonneau cases, and exotic materials. Some readers will remember the RM056 model which was launched at BaselWorld this year featuring a case made of sapphire crystal and sporting a $1.65m price tag. Regardless of your opinion of their watches, you have to admire their drive to make unbelievable products with truly stratospheric prices. Consider the RM027 which features a tourbillon movement and a case made of a high-carbon composite that weighs only 13g (without its strap) and can actually float when placed in water (read more here). The RM027 carries a price tag in excess of $550,000 and is perhaps most famously known as the watch worn by tennis star Rafael Nadal. I like Richard Mille

This rapid frequency allows the chronograph function to save independent intervals of time at 1/8th of a second. CORUM Heritage Artisans Coin Watch
The bald eagle became the national bird of the United States on June 20th 1782. It is a symbol of beauty, strength and prestige which appears grasping arrows and an olive branch in its talons on most official American seals, including the President's. It also appears on several coins such as the US dollar and inspired Corum to design the first Coin Watch with a coin as a dial in 1964. Half a century later, the?La Chaux-de-Fonds brand has unveiled a limited edition of 100 pieces whose dial is a real dollar in 925 silver protected by sapphire crystal. Two black baton-shape hour and minute hands burst from beneath the eagle's head powered by the self-winding CO 082 calibre which provides a 42-hour power reserve. The movement is nestled in the 43mm silver case whose crown gleams with a diamond.?Price: 12,400 CHF.?Sharmila Bertincorum.ch
Looking for buying advice...long post
I'm about to close on my first AP and thankfully, it'll be my grail ROO (rb2ti). I know that everyone says buy the seller and not the watch. I did reach out to a few reputable sellers here and they did find me a few rb2s but there's one that I am going to go with as it's in better condition for marginally more. This watch is being sold by a private seller. First, the seller (original owner) has been very accommodating with pics of the watch, box, books, etc and whatever pics I requested. The watch appears to be complete. Second, I asked for a pic of the back and called AP clearwater to confirm the serial number and everything matches. Third, I reached out a friend of mine that lives in the seller's city and asked him if he knew anyone at the local AP dealer that could look over the watch for me. He gave me a name that he trusts and I called the him at the boutique. Apparently they are no longer selling AP earlier this year (although they are still listed on AP's website) and s
