Epure Vague de Lumiere Only Watch 2015
To join Only Watch's battle against Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Boucheron has designed a unique piece which will be up for auction on Geneva's banks on November 7th. The striking piece is inspired by an equally striking piece of art: The Great Wave off Kanagawa, the fabulous print created in 1831 by the famous Japanese artist Hokusai (1760-1849). Epure Vague de Lumiere adorns a white gold dial protected by aventurine glass whose shimmer illuminates the intense sea blue background. Slender white gold threads paved with a host of baguette and brilliant-cut diamonds form a powerful and dazzling wave. A row of brilliant-cut diamonds frame the white gold case and bounce off the light shining from the stormy blue dial. Two silver baton-shape hands track the hours and minutes brought to life by Girard-Perregaux's self-winding GP400 movement. Unique piece C onlywatch
Speedmaster help/opinions
In the market for a Speedmaster and have it narrowed down to these 2:https://cdn2.jomashop/media/cata...0.01.005_1.jpghttps://production-fratellowatches.n...uesday-018.jpgCan obtain the Speedmaster Pro Moon new. The ‘57 re-edition would be bought used....most likely a 1998-2002 Watch. Price is about the same....the used watch a little less.Something about the brushed tachy bezel and broad arrow hands has my attention but I really like the looks of both. I do like the fact that I can get the full box set new with the Speedmaster Pro Moon.Have any of you Speedy owners considered both of these? Any reason to own one over the other? If so why?Help/Thoughts?Thx. and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
In defense of the Patek E23 (on ref. 3747)
I own the 3747 and love it. Yes, it's a Quartz and not mechanical. Frankly, I don't care. The watch itself is gorgeous (I'm getting it serviced by Patek now and have ordered a navy blue stitched alligator strap which I'll post once I have the watch back). I also love the date function, which unfortunately is missing on the new Golden Ellipse models. Couple of reasons why I purchased this watch: A. Did I say it's gorgeous? I know it's more expensive than other Quartz watches, but the quality and aesthetics of this piece are, quite frankly, unmatched. B. I don't have to wind it - ever.C. It tells me the perfect time - every day.D. The service costs are considerably more cheaper.E. I can put it away and wear my Audemars automatic watch for weeks and know that when I pick up the Patek, it will be running (assuming of course the battery doesn't need to be replaced ;))If Patek ever comes out with a GE with a date function in an automatic movement, I could consider upgrading. Until then, this
Patek 5396R or 5205 R
Hi guys, i am planning to have either one for X Mass and went to PP store and found both with white dial. The 5205 with black dial is on the waiting list. So I tried them and honestly I like both and couldn't decide. I wanted to compare with the 5146 but it was not available. Can you help please. Which one out the 3 would you pick? Cheers
