Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 Ref. 116600 Watch 2014 Hands-On
Have you been waiting for a new Rolex Sea-Dweller? Among a series of new models, Rolex has announced a new version of their famed professional diving watch, the Rolex Sea-Dweller. Carrying the new reference 116600, the 2014 Rolex Sea-Dweller sticks very close to the look and feel of past iterations of this historic diver with very close ties to the Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 which was discontinued in 2008. The Rolex Sea-Dweller was originally launched in 1967 as a response to the expanding world of saturation diving. Thanks to input from the US Navy (via the SEALAB II program) and French Comex divers, Rolex designed a watch that was capable of withstanding extreme pressure and expelling the helium gas that can seep into the case during a saturation dive.An excellent example of what people mean when they say "tool watch," the Rolex Sea-Dweller is is the stuff of dive watch legend, and Rolex didn't mess with the established formula for this updated version. Still sporting a 40mm case in 904
Lets face it

Insanely bad Customer Service - Friend's 312 Hour Marker Issue
See my old thread for the sad story up to now. However, it gets worse. In summary for those who don't want to check the link... the hour hand on his 312 would not hit the hour marker dead center on the hour. I.e. 1, 2, 3 o'clock etc. He had an AD send to Panerai to adjust and it came back exactly the same. Subsequent efforts resulted in no change..rolexforums/showthread.php?t=493894My buddy had the AD send the watch BACK to Panerai again. They said it had to go back to Switzerland. Whatever...as long as one of their folks can fix this hour hand situation. So the AD calls him back and says this is what Panerai will do...1. $100 for a polish 2. replace the dials3. replace the hands4. clean the bracelet, buckle for $236Estimated turnaround time... SIXTEEN WEEKS!!! :He scratched the bezel himself / wanted it taken care of...this is insane I told him. Besides. If they intended to refinish the rest of a barely worn 312, that is more insanity.OK...re: #2 & 3...they won't charge him. But
Need some advice on next Rolex
Hi All,Fairly new member here but have been bitten by the watch bug. I bought my first 116610LN from Takuya last year and have come to really appreciate Rolex and the feeling I get from wearing it. Something I take pride in, as silly as it may sound to some. In any case, I am looking for another Rolex to add to the collection sometime this year. My collection so far includes: IWC Portugieser Chronograph Classic 390404Grand Seiko Snowflake SBGA211Rolex Submariner 116610LNThe watches that I am considering are a little varied: Rolex BLNR - Sporty and beautiful in design in my opinion. The GMT function is also a plus although I only travel 2-3 times a year. Is it too similar to the SubC?Rolex Explorer 214270 - Love that this is a sporty yet classy watch that can have various looks depending on the strap. A great everyday watch.Rolex Datejust 41mm - A bit more dressy but could be the dressy watch in my collection. Intrigued by the rhodium/blue dial. Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
