Speedy with sapphire crystal and exhibition back
Hi, I have a chance to pick up a Speedmaster at a decent price. I've always envisioned the classic Speedy to have a Hesalite crystal with a solid case back. The one I can buy has the sapphire crystal with the exhibition case back.Just wondering what the perception is of a Speedy in the above stated config.Thanks in advance!

Patek 5711 or 5712?
This has come up many times before on this forum, but not since 2014. I'm wondering how thoughts have changed.I have an opportunity to but either a 5711 or 5712 new from AD. Both in steel (blue dial) and both on bracelet. Really struggling which one to choose as what I like about each is also what I don't like about each (relative to one another). For instance:5711I love the plain dial, but worry that the plan dial is too boring.Love the understated look, but worry it's too understated.Like that it is less money, but is it inferior because it is less money.5712Love the complications, but don't really need any of the complications.Love the asymmetrical dial, but worry it's too busy.Like that it is more interesting, worry that it I will like it less as time wears on.Curious what the current sentiments are out there now that both of these references are extremely difficult to find at AD.Any and all help/thoughts are appreciated. Especially from those that have also gone through this excru

First Rolex incoming!
Hi guys, need to share my excitement with you. My Rolex journey has been a rather odd one. I got into watches couple of years ago. From the start, I was 100% certain that I would never own a Rolex. I just didn't like what you typically associate with the brand or people who wear them (please don't kick me out and keep reading). Over the years, I bought 2 Omegas (Speedy Pro & Seamaster PO GMT), 2 Breitlings (Superocean Heritage 46 & Transocean 1461), a Tudor (Black Bay Heritage S&G), a Sinn (104), a Tag Heuer (Link) and some Seikos (SKX, Samurai, Cocktail Time). And while I love all of these watches, the more I learned about Rolex, its history and its horological significance, the more intrigued I was. It was clear: I needed to have one. I've been hunting a BLNR for months now here in Australia and it's almost impossible. They sell used ones 15% over MSRP and new ones at 30-40%.
