Seiko Astron GPS Solar Chronograph Limited Editions
In 2012, Seiko launched the Astron �C the world's first watch able to receive GPS signals and, using an onboard database, convert those signals into precisely accurate time anywhere on Earth. Powered by the Sun, the Astron is always on time, even on top of a mountain or in the middle of the ocean. Here are the two newest models, including the first-ever for women. The Astron uses the incredibly precise signals from GPS satellites to stay right on time, and when you travel, it can adjust to the time in the new location using those signals. The original Astron was a bit bulky for some wrists, but in September this year, Seiko launched its new Caliber 8X82, which allowed for a 30% reduction in the size of the watch. The upgraded movement also allows Seiko to offer a wider range of dial colors for this solar-powered watch. Watch The 2015 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve Live On HODINKEE Tomorrow
At exactly 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time tomorrow (Thursday, October 29th), the world of fine watchmaking will gather at the grand theater in Geneva for the most prestigious celebration of horology in the world at the 2015 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve, or GPHG. Over a dozen category winners will be announced, ranging from chronographs to calendars, sports watches, tourbillons, ladies watches, and more. From there, the winner of the night's biggest prize, the “AIGUILLE D’OR," or "Golden Hand" will be presented. Last year Breguet's Classique Chronometer took home the main prize and this year's group of entries may bring us a few surprises. HODINKEE will be broadcasting the entire GPHG 2015 ceremony right here (beginning at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time (6:30 p.m. Swiss). Connecticut Service Center returned scratched my watch
Hi,Just want to share my experience and frustration.I bought Colt 44 in July and the movement had issues. In November I took it to the WTC boutique and they sent it to the SC in Connecticut.6 weeks later I got it back with scratches on the bracelet, side of the case and lower part (4-6) of the bezel. Naturally, I complained but was told that it is my fault. The center does not have any pictures of the watch before service or after service.... The best they offered to rectify this was $180 charge for polishing.Is my experience unique? Any advice? Thank you
