Images from WatchTime’s NYC Hublot Event
This past Tuesday night, a select group of WatchTime friends attended an invitation-only event with Hublot at the elegant Park Avenue Autumn restaurant in Manhattan. About 50 attendees enjoyed an evening of delicious food and wine, fabulous watches, and a chance to meet Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver, U.S. president Beatrice de Quervain, Hublot’s Mike Margolis, and WatchTime editors Joe Thompson, Mark Bernardo and Amy Bernstein. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and an opportunity to meet top Hublot executives, and to try on Hublot’s newest models and rare high complications. Following cocktails, dinner was served, and Mr. Biver gave an entertaining and informative presentation. Each attendee made a generous contribution, the entire proceeds of which were donated to Smile Train, an organization providing free cleft surgery for poor children in developing countries. And now, some images from the evening, which you may enlarge with a click. The venue. Hajime Asaoka Project T Tourbillon Indepedent Japanese Watch
High-end, independent, and self-taught Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka presents his second watch, the Project T Tourbillon - and it is beautiful. We introduced Hajime Asaoka back in 2011 when he released his first Tourbillon watch. The Hajime Asaoka Project T continues where he left off the with first tourbillon, further extending his cool and masculine art deco sense of style.Interestingly enough, the Hajime Asaoka Project T Tourbillon watch is a collaboration project between Hajime Asaoka and two other companies. Is this watch for charity, or with a sports team, or is there some other type of lifestyle connection? No such BS in the world of Hajime Asaoka - for the Hajime Asaoka Project T watch he worked with two tooling and milling companies! One is the OSG Corporation that makes precision cutting tools, and the second is Yuki, a major company that produces precision machining equipment. Of course each helped with the production of the watch. When you are a small independent watchma
Speed master moon watch , Hesalite of the Sapphire Sandwich?
I'm in the market for an Omega Speedmaster moon watch . I would really value your opinion on whether to go with the original style Hesalite crystal or with the newer style exhibition caseback ?
Illuminating dial markers/hands
Hello all,Just to share a piece of info I picked up along the way and invite any similar experiences.I recently found out that if your hour markers/hands on your omega are becoming dull or almost non existent you can apparently re-charge them by shining a bright light into the face for a few seconds.I have tried with a bright torch (only thing I could think of to do the job) which did brighten the dials up a bit but did not seem to make any permanent improvement.Has anyone else got any experience or similar tips ?As always feedback greatly appreciated.Paul
New to me Panerai 337
I've been fond of Panerais for a while but never even considered the brand for myself due to their large size and my small wrist. Then I discovered the Panerai 337. So sleek, so thin and so small for a Panerai. I've been looking for a good deal on a Panerai 337 ever since I first found out about it 6 months ago. Then I saw one for sale online and knew I had to have it!It feels super comfortable on my wrist and a nice change up from my SubC date. Here are some pics:
