SLYDE Sport Watches With Matching "Engines" 2013
My experience with the SLYDE?watch last year was an instructive one. While I will readily profess the religion of the mechanical watch to anyone who will listen, I was surprised to discover that during the time I spent with a SLYDE on my wrist, I felt a tinge of the future, and possibly of watch-making itself. While we interact with electronic devices all the time, it seems strange that in the arena of wrist-watch appreciation, the emphasis is decidedly still on the mechanical side of things. Perhaps if the future is to be engaged properly, developments need to be made on?the digital side as well, for who knows what we as a race will evolve to be like further down the line. Without a doubt, at some point the world of Swiss watches and smartwatches will converge.SLYDE is interesting and is an interesting company, guided by a singular vision that in the current environment, could reasonably be deemed to be very bold. Viewed by many industry pundits as a worthwhile experiment in the concep
Anybody experienced this on a 5711?
The other day I noticed the date on my watch hadn't fully locked into position. Has anybody experienced this problem before? I contacted my AD and was told this was a common problem with 5711s. Sure its under warranty and I can take it but this is a new watch (only 2 weeks that I've owned it). Next question, once it gets repaired does that take care of the problem?FYI, I was able to advance the date and it has worked fine the last coupe of days.
Panerai Service Contact information
I have a Panerai 275 that has been in for service for 3 months. I amlooking for some contact information for upper management. Maybe thismight help. Maybe a brand manager. I found the name Hans Dekkers.I am not sure if he is in the US or not. Here is a copy of the last emailI sent:Here is a copy of the last email I sent on Nov 19, with no response:Kristie,I am completely frustrated by the way the service of this watch has been handled. I hadanother Panerai in my collection serviced last year with excellent results (service reference no 10886419/1).The watch was delivered as promised and looked new.The purchase and subsequent warranty work has been a fiasco. This watch is a premium luxury item witha retail price of $18900.00. I used the watch sparingly and only had used it for three month before it had tobe sent to be serviced. I sent the watch to Fort Worth Service Center where it sat for 3 weeks. I finallycontacted the Service Center and spoke with Tremain. He initially could not lo
Accuracy??
What type of accuracy to you guys/gals expect on your watches? These watches are all about 3-4 weeks old. I am using the iPhone app Twixt, and these were last week's measurements:
Hustling for Deals...
I read all the incoming posts but nobody every puts what they paid for the watch. Why is that? Don't say etiquette or it's in poor taste. It's the internet and here's goatsy, so please don't even bother. I'm seeing $7500 for a used explorer 2 on IG (when I bought mine BNIB for $6200 from a trusted seller)I'm seeing $8200 for a 2010 DJ2 when i can buy a BNIB DJ41 for $8400 today from a trusted seller. These prices are crazy and as the consumer it's up to us to take back the margins.Thoughts on that?
