Glash��tte Original’s first iPhone App is called the Senntor diary, after the brand’s mechanical timepiece that lets its owner set an alarm up to 30 days in advance – the only one with this feature. The app features a diary for your iPhone to remind you of important dates, and more. The app also features an interactive tour of the manufactory and games that are both entertaining and instructive, inviting fans to take a closer look at world of high-end mechanical movements. Of course, there’s also an interactive catalog.The app opens with a splash screen displaying a Senator Diary displaying the current time and date. Five gold pushers offer entry points that bring up the diary function, the current collection, the interactive tour, a list of retailers, and games.German and English versions are available in iTunes, and a Chinese version is in the works. Rather handsome, I enjoy how this new piece from Ferragamo mixes sport and sophistication. The mainstay piece for Ferragamo timepieces is the F-80 watch collection. It is a very impressive design that I think has been dismissed by a lot of serious watch guys. This new Ferragamo model is the 1898 Moonphase Chronograph with a good look and pitifully underwhelming name.Do I need to go on with another rant on how the watch industry needs to stop naming their own watches? There are literally only a handful of brands that know properly title and market their watches. With such cleverness in design, how is there so little effort put into simple things like words. Ferragamo for example is a serious fashion industry name - really into image and classiness, and all that good stuff that sells clothing. PAtek 5990 Leather Strap Options?
Recently became the proud new owner of a stainless steel 5990! Love the watch, but I'm the kind of guy who swaps bracelets for straps in the summer. As such, I'm finding myself wearing my Aguanaut 5167 more than my new 5990 simply because of the bracelet vs strap. Does anyone know of suppliers who can craft a leather strap (or retrofit from another watch) for the 5990?
