18 Entrants Will Compete in the 2011 International Chronometry Contest
Fourteen watchmaking companies and four schools will participate in the 2011 International Chronometry Contest. The winners will be announced on October 20 at Chateau des Monts �C Horological Museum of Le Locle. Find complete details and a list of entrants inside. The first officially-sanctioned timekeeping competition in 37 years was held in 2009 when 16 timepieces were entered in a single category, each competing against the others. For 2011, the competition has been modified with the contestants divided into three groups: traditional movements, tourbillons, and watchmaking schools.During the competition, the timepieces are subjected to a variety of tests that are based on international standards, and that are much more rigorous than the well-known Official Swiss Control of Chronometers (COSC) tests. A few days ago, I posted about watch winding times. Well, my ROO Panda hasn't moved in 2 days (after it was fully wound)I called AP on 57th st and was told to bring it in and that the Clearwater SVC center is closed until Jan 6th.Any ideas about how to get it working again?The crown feels very tight - had it in my winder at 600 bidirectional rotations/day. Hi everyone! I currently have a 233 AM/PM dial and a 311. I've suddenly got the uncontrollable urge to own a 47mm Pam, a 372 to be exact. I have a offer to trade my 233 for a brand new 372 plus $500. A tobacco dial is a must for me so trading up the 233 for a 372 and keeping my 311 is the plan. That would give me a super nice Chrono with fairly busy dial and the base of all bases. Thoughts on this deal please?
