SeaWolf: Cobra yellow or Volcano Black -- your thoughts?
Even since I sold my SteelFish, I have been lurking at the SeaWolf, however, I cannot decide whether to get the Cobra yellow version or the Volcano black (batons). I love the look of both watches, even though they do give out different signals.I am worried that the Cobra yellow version will be too colorful to wear at e.g. work (office, research), but on the other side I am worried that the Volcano black version will be too conservative (dull/boring). Also it should be mentioned that I have never had any colorful watch (the closest is a white/silver faced SteelFish), and in my current 'collection' I have a Panerai 305 and a Planet ocean - both have black dials. What are your experiences with the two versions of the amazing SeaWolf? Pros and cons? Thanks
2254.50 Owners Club
How many 2254.50 owners are there on TRF? Post your pics! Here's mine! The bracelet was starting to look a bit worn so I replaced it with a nato strap. I think it looks really great now.
Black dial 5960/1A at my AD (UK), PM me if interested...
...just a heads up if anyone is looking, tempted myself but timing isn't great. No tyre kickers, if you're genuinely interested I can pass on the details, They are a great AD to deal with and they don't expect to receive another.John
Pronouncing Patek
Yes, dumbest question ever. As Don Adams would say, Sorry about that chief! When I hear Patek Philippe pronounced, usually it seems different depending on whether one is saying Patek or Patek Philippe. Patek Philippe seems to be pronounced in a French way, Pah-tek with the accent on tek.But when saying Patek for short, it seems like people frequently say, Pa-dick with the accent on the Pa.Is this my imagination?
5270 UPDATE (sticking DAY issue)
Here's an update, and the resolution, on my 5270.To start, I have been working closely with my AD, who has been an incredible advocate for me throughout this process, on my 5270g-019 sticking Day issue (see the link below to the TRF thread). This experience validates for me the importance of building a strong relationship with an AD. It's not JUST best price that matters but also SERVICE and FOLLOW-THROUGH of the seller, whomever it may be. My AD knew my concerns re: the 5270g-019 sticking Day issue, and he offered to work with Patek. In the end, he asked if I wanted to exchange my 5270g-019 (blue dial) for a BNIB (sealed) 5270r-001. While at first I wanted (and bought) the Blue dial version, since I just purchased last week the 5140p-001 (BLUE dial), I gladly made the switch. I never owned a rose gold watch, and while the look of this 5270 provides a completely different experience than its blue dial brother, it is beautiful. It is so warm and inviting. My AD made this happen for me,
