NOMOS Glashütte has been around since 1990, believe it or not – here at HODINKEE we find it hard to imagine that the company’s already a quarter century old, because they’ve managed to keep a sense of inventiveness in how they present themselves, and in their watches, that makes them seem perpetually fresh. None of this is an accident, of course – in fact, a big part of the reason that NOMOS has as much goodwill from the watch community as it has, stems from its obsessive concentration on getting all the details just right. PAM 390 vs. PAM 372
I need a little advise... I made my first Panerai purchase this summer and secured a PAM 390. It has solid Panerai DNA look to it and the tobacco dial with the gold hands is a wonderful combination. I wish it had the sandwich dial and as a result, I am considering selling my 390 to get a 372. They look identical except for the sandwich dial, the size (44mm vs. 47mm) and the crystal. It is a fair chunk of cash more expensive and is not near as limited. There is also the question of whether my wrist can carry the 372. For the purpose of this question, let's assume I can carry the size. What choice would you make or guidance would you provide me.If it matters, I also picked up a PAM 005 for a more daily wear.Thanks

Incoming... my first!
I started thinking about a Rolex last fall. At first I thought I wanted a bluesy tt, but then considered it would be too flashy in Portland Oregon. I was also worried that if I got a Rolex it would upstage my boss who wears a 20 year old sub as a daily beater. So, already being an Omega guy as they've been in my family, I went with a Speedmaster as I felt it was understated. I really like the Speedmaster except for two things. 1) It's on a strap not a bracelet. After wearing a Seamaster on a bracelet for 10 years, the strap always feels either too loose or too tight. 2) I feel like I have to baby it, find a safe place to put it if I'm going to swim or do something active. Finally, it didn't scratch the itch. I found myself constantly looking at my boss' sub in meetings. I just got back from a long trip abroad and really could have used a GMT. Which yachtmaster
Looking to get a yachtmaster I've decided it's going to be the platinum dial. Question is should I go for a late M or a V serial with the older style clasp or a random with a newer style clasp. The question isn't clasp I like them both doesn't bother me which one, I seem to have the habit of flipping watches after a few years not found the one just yet apart from the Daytona and the yachtmaster these are the two I haven't owned what's going for the yachtmaster is the date which I use a lot.
