Showing at WatchTime IBG 2014: Carl F. Bucherer Manero Tourbillon Limited Edition
WatchTime and noted watch collector and expert Jeff Kingston have teamed up again for the 2014 edition of the popular Inside Basel.Geneva series of collector events, kicking off September 5 in Chicago. Among the core sponsoring watch brands is Carl F. Bucherer, which will showcase its Manero Tourbillon Limited Edition at the events.Carl F. Bucherer has created many complicated watches, including models with power-reserve displays, chronographs, and even a perpetual calendar and the company makes its own manufacture movement, but the Manero Tourbillon Limited Edition is the brand's first tourbillon timepiece. The watch which commemorates the 125th anniversary of founder Carl Friedrich Bucherer opening his first watch and jewelry shop in Lucerne, Switzerland contains the new, hand-wound tourbillon movement, Caliber CFB T1001. Help with possible first Patek - Need a push
So to make a long story short, I have been lusting after a 5711/1a blue dial for a while, and if they weren't so difficult to find sealed from an AD or even at retail from a trusted seller I would probably have one already but the difficulty finding one is really holding me up. Recently it dawned upon me that if I buy this watch, I won't be able to buy another substantial piece for at least 6 months without the wife cutting off parts of me that I would prefer to keep. So what do I do? Continue my almost religious flipping of watches that gives me oh so much satisfaction or just shell out the cash? Current Collection: 116520 Daytona White Dial 116710 Blnr116610 Sub-C Black Explorer 1 - 39mm67' 5513 Meters FirstTudor Snowflake Blue Date - 81' unpolished Omega Speedmaster 2998-4 I would happily part with the explorer and sub-c and then likely sell the Tudor to bridge the gap a little more. Opinions Needed! Thanks TRF
Nautilus or Aquanaut?
Folks,I suddenly have the opportunity to add an Aquanaut 5164 to my collection. I currently have a 5711/1a. If you were in my shoes, would you get the 5164 or would you go for another Nautilus, say a 5712r or a 5980 or 5726, and why? Thanks for any advice.
