Warranty Card After Service?
I just bought a limited edition SMP expecting a complete set but was surprised to see that the warranty card is missing. Can this still be considered complete? Seller claims that the warranty card was held by the AD and he never received it. He also says that I will get a new named warranty card if I get it serviced so it won't impact my resale value. Is this true? Didn't think that Omega would send out a new warranty card after service. What's the impact to resale value for a limited edition with missing warranty card? Thanks!
Got my 50's bumper back from service =)
So I have had this Omega 52' Seamaster Bumper Caliber ever since i was a young lad (My grandfathers). To my knowledge it was not serviced for at least 30 years?? maybe ever if that's possible? It still worked (somewhat) but would stop periodically, lose massive amounts of time daily and did not make a nice sound when winding. Anyway I felt for the little guy and decided to throw him a life raft and give him a chance for many more years. Just got it back, most likely spent more on the service/restoration than the watch is worth but what the heck. Sometimes its nice to see an old friend rather than a new one. Tell me what you think, first is the before shot. beforephoto (3).jpgAfter:photo (1).jpgphoto (2).jpgphoto (4).jpg
Purple?
When I saw that new purple worldtimer I wasn't really my thing, but it might just work for the 5711...
Gold polishing
A few local ADs have said they'll polish my gold Daytona up for a reasonable circa ?100 but they won't touch the bezel cos it means taking the watch apart The rolex service is about ?600I've never had any watch polished before... I'm slightly nervous about some of the over polishing nightmares we see. I'm guessing Rolex service is the safest bet?Cheers
